presumptuous that you have judge your neighbor's children before they have had the opportunity to grow into what you suspect they will. not all only children are bad compromisers and unhappy with what they have. it's a vast generalization to say that only children are spoiled brats who always get what they want. i have seen just as many children with siblings in that exact position since the parents are attempting to buy them both off for not having enough time to spend with them.
