Michigan Man On His 53rd Cadillac »

Few people love Cadillacs like Joseph Macko. The 84-year-old Flint man (and GM retiree) has been driving a new Cadillac every year since 1955. And he took home his 53rd Cadillac Thursday from Al Serra Auto Plaza. Why does he do it? "You only live one time. Money is to spend," Macko said. "I spend it once I get it." His wife, Marcella Macko, said the annual trip to the dealership for her husband to trade in his old car and take delivery of his new one is something she just doesn't get excited about anymore. "He does, but I don't," she said, chuckling. (In the video below, check out a vintage commercial for the 1958 Cadillac--presumably the third of Macko's many, many Caddies.)

Wow! Can you imagine the fuel cost for a 58 Cad or the look on my 14 year olds friends face when I dropped her off at school.

I work in a dealership that sells Cadillacs. This is a big number for sure but there are a lot of people who are into the 20's-30's even 40's when it comes to the number of Cadillacs owned. We have one customer who at last count was on #73!

airwick1944, what are u talking about? It's better than a 60 something like you pulling up to the light in your Kia or Honda, Toyota or whatever. No matter how much gas is. I will Always drive an AMERICAN MADE CAR.. Yea so they have been making Foreign cars here over 25 yrs. It's dumb people like you that started buying them back then. On top of that. American made cars are not allowed to be sold in Japan for whatever reason. So in 30 yrs when your great grand children are working for the Japs. Pat yourself on the back...... GM is still the King!

All politics that so many on line want to make EVERYTHING about this just isn't. It's about a guy who loves his car. If he can afford the gas and it's his wish/want. What in heavens name right do ANY of us have to say if he's right or wrong?

Good for him!! If he trades in his old one for a new one and it is what makes him happy?? WHY NOT?? I am jealous of him frankly.. this car is pretty amazing and to be able to afford one like he has been?? It's nice to see someone actually HAPPY!! A pimp?? WOW!! Don't judge a book by it's car.. I mean cover because you would'nt want someone doing the same to you!!
