If God forbid, he moves into the White House, should they change it to the McMansion? How dare either of these candidates act like they have it all that hard! Neither of them has dealt with or lived in poverty in a long time. John McCain lived in squalor as a POW in Vietnam. Obama had to claw his way out of poverty. Fine, I respect that. Neither of them live there now. As for McCain and his maybe 4 or 7 or 10 mansions, poop on him.

  As Obama never forgot where he came from, and worked to help others claw their way out of poverty, I don't quite understand the need to stick him on the same level as mccain.

    Agreed. Not only did Obama actually work his way out of poverty, as opposed to dumping your wife to marry into it, but Obama went back to help others after he already made it.
    
    When Obama graduated from Harvard Law magna *** laude and after being elected Harvard Law Review editor by his peers, Obama could have taken the guaranteed road to riches by joining any law firm in the country that he wanted to. Even the most prestigious law firms in the country would have bragged about hiring him.
    
    Instead, Obama became a faith-based community activist to help the under-represented in south Chicago.

      When faced with moral dilemmas what do the candidates do?
      
      Obama gives up the guaranteed millions to help those less fortunate than him.
      
      McCain dumps his wife and mother of three for the home-wrecking heiress. Now, if you forgive that perhaps for his `youth` of being in his early 40`s, then what do you say about McCain`s betrayal towards our troops and vets when he voted all those times AGAINST their military funding, AGAINST armor, AGAINST equal time off, and AGAINST VA funding for the casualties?

        maybe if you bothered to do some reading of unbiased sources you would catch up with the 80% of America that already knows Obama got over a million from his book. This is called a self-made man in America.
        
        Laura bush also wrote a book, so did Cindy McCain. Oh wait, Cindy actually plagiarized her, but that`s another story.

        Rezko is a good Rove/Bush buddy who said Rove knew about Traitor-Gate long before he admitted to investigators; a crime.
        
        Also, Rezko was a special guest of President Bush for Christmas dinner at the WH.

        People of faith do not support the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocents, they do not pick and choose which of God`s children are worth protecting and which are not.
        
        What you do onto the least of my brothers you do onto me.
        
        In the Bible some of the most talked about sins are the sins of greed and gluttony.
        
        If you stop picking and choosing which sins God meant or which God gave higher priority to, you would realize Obama is bound for Heaven while McCain does not have a chance, at least in comparison.

    Obama was on the same food-assistance program I was on as a child because neither of our parents earned enough money. I got free chits for the lunch cafeteria every week, so did he.

      All you need to do is look at what the swift boaters did to kerry. Half of the Con heroes in that bunch couldn't remember where they were stationed or what balttles THEY fought in but somehow all had exactly the same story and knew exactly how many bullets Kerry fired and at who.     Not all those attending 'private school' are wealthy. This is especially true in Hawaii where those of Hawaiian descent are among the poorest people on the Hawaiian islands. One of the upsides of being in such poverty is that because the US stole all the land and sold it to Americans and the Japanese is that they felt guilty enough to ensure that a private school for Hawaiians was established.
    
    As for other private schools, I know of very few excepting the exclusive schools that are usualy attended by the children of wealthy, exploitive Repugnant Cons, that do not have assistance programs and scholarships for those in need. I, myself, fund three such scholarships and know of at least 20 such positions at a local private school.

    I'd tell you to grow up, but realize it's more fun for you to act like a child. Obama & his mom knew poverty, & he lived poverty. He didn't forget that when he grew up. Something you'll never understand probably, because it's doubtful you will....grow up that is.

  Obama just finished paying off his school loans. He and his wife has less than 2 million in worth. he is not all that rich.

    Blackacereturn, Cons do not seem to be interested in truth or honesty although i do find those qualities to be quite admirable, keep up the good work.
    
    I am quite surprised that Christian conservatives do not speak out against their lying and immoral brethren. I guess it is kind of like regular honest muslims not speaking out against the radical extremist muslims.
