Prompted, it seems, by concerns over John McCain's foot-in-the-mouth admission that he did not know the number of houses he owned, aides to the Senator, GOP officials and conservative activists unleashed a torrent of attacks in an effort to deflect attention to Barack Obama.

    FTA:
The Kitchen sink counter attack is almost certainly a coordinated effort to move the media - if not the political discussion - away from McCain's gaffe. And, by and large, the press has not taken the bait, likely because the meme that McCain is an elitist is fresh compared to the Obama lines (which were hit to death in the primary).

In a way, this could be a blessing for the Obama campaign. In all likelihood, McCain and his GOP allies were set to trot the Rezko and Ayers attacks out as the election approaches. They still might. But having those cards played in late August makes them all the more unremarkable if they are brought up again in late October.

The Dem's candidate is always portrayed by the right as the sum of all fears. Standard procedure.

It's only just begun, it will be astounding to see what they are willing to do before this is over.

Maybe the kitchen sink is for Obama's brother that lives in a cardboard box.

........... and this guy is going to solve the problems of people who have foreclosures, personal bankruptcies, living hand to mouth trying to pay for gas, food and medicines.

.......... and this is the guy who bilked thousands of small depositors, seniors and pensioners out of their life savings in famous Keating 5 biggest S&L scandal in 1980s.

........... and this is the guy who will protect us by perpetuating the cold war already reignited by his mentors Bush, Cheney & Rice.

....... and this guy turns 72 next week!

....... and his biggest supporter and ear piece is a PIG.

      keep dreaming............

The republicons have no morals or scruples. They can't run on their record because their record is one of uncontrolled greed. They have trashed this country and are busily ruining the Constitution.

All they have left is FEAR and SMEAR.

Well folks, they can now begin attacking both Obama and Joe Biden. Seems Biden is the VP choice, according to CNN.

McCain was unsure how many homes they owned because admittedly they are wealthy and unlike Obama did not receieve any "Rezko-like" assistance in getting any of them.

Not knowing how many houses he owns ?? Seems to pale when compared to not knowing how many states there are in the union.

Obama...new, fresh, and a different candidate????He picks probably the one man in the Senate who is the exact opposite. Biden has been in the Senate since 1973 (quite a bit lon ger than McCain). Im not sure but in 1973 wasnt McCain in a POW camp? Hes old enough to have been sharing playdates with McCain. Hes failed at previous runnings at the presidency, once in humilation for using someone elses speech. We have seen Biden have meltdowns with his temper also. I for one am grateful for his choice. He couldnt have picked any better. Get ready for President McCain and you only have Obama to blame.

The GOP has nothing to run on except fear. Look what they have in the last 7 years alone. They could have accomplished anything that they wanted and all they have done is start a war based on lies, run up the highest deficit in history, and ruined the economy.
