Comments for Analysis: Biden pick shows lack of confidence »

Posted By MyWayOnNow 1 year, 4 months ago in News

In picking Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate, Barack Obama sought to shore up his weakness — inexperience in office and on foreign policy — rather than underscore his strength as a new-generation candidate defying political conventions.

Au contraire. Picking a strong personality that isn't afraid to speak his mind shows self confidence and a willingness to freely share ideas. This can only be good and is a breath of fresh air after all these years of listening to republicons marching in step with each other and smearing any dissenting voices.

If you go back to what Barack has said about a VP choice it was clear he did not want a "yes man". He wanted someone who could govern with him. He wanted someone he could debate with and who would "push back" if he thought Barack was wrong. I think he picked that man.

Ron Fournier, who wrote this for the AP, nearly joined the McCain campaign earlier this year.

This isn't analysis; this is partisan hackery and the AP should be ashamed for running it.

Lack of confidence would have been shown by picking some one who had no chance of stealing the spotlight in any way. People who have no confidence pick lesser people to serve under them in leadership roles that way there is no chance that they will be out shined.

It's always interesting to see how wrong people are on these threads, after the event occurs. I love going back and getting confirmation on the false conjectures that were made or predicted. So it's done, after the honeymoon (100 days) we wil see how Obama fares.
