He is responsible for creating the bloated,ineffective propaganda office of Drug Czar.He is responsible for supporting the passage of Reagans Crime Bill of 1986 which implemented such things as mandatory sentences for drug offenses that force the early release of murderers and rapists to make room for non-violent drug offenders with mandatory sentences.The Bill also allows paramilitary police tactics which have resulted in numerous deaths of innocent citizens .Because of his blind support of Reagans ciminal war on Americans a person can have his house siezed and never even be charged with a crime or if he is found not guilty the house will not be returned.If you are stopped by a cop and you have more than $1000 in your pocket ,the cop can take your money and you have to prove that it is not drug money...thanks Joe! -

I'm not a huge fan of Joe Biden either, for the reasons mentioned in the article as well as his stands backing usurious lenders on laws concerning credit card companies and on the bankruptcy legislation of a few years ago. (Though I'd be surprised if a senator from Delaware voted otherwise on those.)

But the vice president traditionally does what the president allows him to do. (In Bush's case, the vice president runs the country while the president is a figurehead--they've switched traditional roles.) I think Obama chose Biden to counteract the idea that Obama lacks experience in foreign affairs. -

Remember Jimmy Carter? He said he wanted to legalize marijuana but didn't. If you're too young to remember, just check out his presidency and you"ll see just what Barack Obama's administration will look like. The only change will be back to the old tax, tax, tax and spend, spend, spend. No hope for anything new.

As opposed to the don't tax, tax, tax, but spend like a drunken sailor anyway until you completely hose the economy?
The old tax, tax, tax and spend, spend, spend worked better.
But your right, lets do what NEITHER party has done, lets NOT tax, tax, tax, or spend, spend, spend. It will mean disbanding the military, closing the pentagon, renting out the white house and sending home congress. And I'm sure there are downsides as well. -

Wolfie...ahem,I saw Carter campaigning with the Allman Brothers in '76,when he was introduced nobody knew who he was or cared...until he said that the drug laws should not cause more harm than the drugs themselves and that he would end federal arrests for possession...and he did just that with an exectutive order in '79.Reagan cancelled that executive order.

Now,if you want to talk about "Read my lips"...THAT is a broken promise.
And you're right ,Obama will inherit a destroyed economy and inflation just like Carter did from Nixon/Ford...yes,I am old enough to remember Nixon's "wage and price freeze" to try to combat inflation...it failed.
