Joe Biden has a good record in the Senate, when you crunch the numbers the 233,000 he has received from lobbies IS since 1989 making the figure seem large. (it averages out to less than 17,000 a year). Which is 17,000 too much but the only criticism leveled against Obama that has legs with reasonable moderates is the question of experience. ( To me this not necessarily a good thing, Cheney had experience, Mark Stevens has experience, doesn't mean a thing unless the intent is to do good.) One cannot find any politician with measurable Washington experience who has not been a part of the K street money. It has been the Modus Operandi for quite some time, Anyway the point is Biden has experience and should quell any further questions in that area. Personally I would have loved to have seen Senator Feingold tapped for the ticket, but alas that is likely a losing strategy. Biden's voting record is actually good despite the Iraq mistake which frankly they were misled through Bogus information presented as intelligence.

I believe Biden is a good choice strategically in terms of being able to win and fits the description of someone who will not be an Obama yes man but present his own ideas. You just can't have "experience" in a vacuum, there's going to be some negatives. Though I don't always agree with Biden, I believe he is a good man, looks at issues in the long term, has integrity, and has intelligence. His record is one of being reasonable, and speaking out against BS. He has a lot of credence with older voters who don't know what to make of Obama. Where Obama himself has really tried to keep his word about sticking to issues and not getting bogged down in the morass of mud so prevalent in national elections, sadly he needs someone who will attack strategically, because no one else is. The press has given McCain a free ride and at least where I live the barrage of negative BS ads from McCain is already horrendous. Obama promised he would not be about that, but the pundits are begging for it. Biden has made no such promise, and he is known for speaking his mind.
All things to consider.
