Ron Paul: Government Can’t Protect People from Themselves »

"It’s videos such as this when I am reminded why we are fighting. Notice how Ron doesn’t even flinch when asked some of these very tough questions.

Imagine McCain or Obama fielding these sorts of questions from a reporter. I think they would be liable to storm out of the room and become visibly upset with the very notion of legalized drugs or prostitution. Instead, Ron delivers a reasonable and measured approach that includes some function of useful government - such as protecting children."

I may not agree with everything he say's, but you have to respect his consistency. Proof? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHB2I83_N_k He's talking about the exact same things today.

Indeed, gouvernment should not intervene in private matters, as long it doesn't harm a third person, nor hinders this 3rd person freedom.
      e.g.
If you want to smoke in your home, or in open air (or big halls), and that smoke doesn't (objectivaly) bothers me.... what's the problem, it's your ADULT live.
If you own a restaurant, pub, bar,..... it's your choice to make it smoke free, smoke area, or smoke everywhere. After that it's the customer's choice either to come in or not.
It's you choice to eat to much fat or not.
It's your choice to sit the whole day (after work) in front of the TV, or to get out and do some sport (better for you).
      etc.....

The gouvernments task and duty is to INFORM you on the consequences or possible consequences of your decisions (actions, eating habits, work, .....).
It's also their task to make sure others are not harmed by what "other" others are doing..
e.g. smoking: you don't have to go to a bar where smoking is partly or not allowed. Go to another. However, you do sometimes HAVE to go e.g. to city hall, so that should be no smoking (except maybe in big townsin the lobby where that loby has a "100ft high" ceiling)
Same goes for religion, gays, prostitution (NOT pimping or forced prostitution), mariage,...

"Imagine McCain or Obama fielding these sorts of questions from a reporter"
That would be impossible to imagine
Reporters won't ask those type of questions to either man running for the presidency

I would like to see him on the Supreme Court where he could do the most good.

      He's a true Constitutionalist ...

While I don't agree with everything Paul said, he makes a lot more sense than those two boobs from the two major parties.

Why limit our selfs to a two party system that seems more like a one party system, lets see some real change and get a 3rd party into office!

Ron Paul biggest policy problem is his lack of a reasonable and comprehensive foreign policy. The problem he has getting elected is he's not on any party's ticket. I have stopped throwing my vote away by voting for a third party candidate or writing in a candidate.

Why doesn't Ron Paul get the attention he deserves from his own party? Is it because he keeps his nose too clean? Too afraid he'll upset the status quo? Threaten to uphold the Constitution?

The man says all the right things.

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. We should vote all of them out of office (minus Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich) and clean up their mess! It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted of incompetence and irresponsibility.
