Convicted and incarcerated, yet he doesn't remember a thing »
Posted By Dakota 1 year, 3 months ago in NewsA chilling story for anyone who drives in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Times looks at the case of George Damaa, a 55-year-old local resident who served a three year sentence for vehicular manslaughter, despite the fact that the prosecuting attorney admitted that "no one really knows what happened." Damaa awoke in a coma after the accident and traffic tests at the accident site never conclusively revealed what caused the deadly crash. But Damma is another statistic, just one of the 1,000 persons in the U.S. that are prosecuted each year for vehicular homicide in accidents not involving alcohol or drugs.
