I feared this would happen. I'm glad the plot was foiled. I see enough rabid hate on Propeller for Obama to know that this is a small tip of the iceberg, a microcosm of the ill will people still feel towards black people in America. I hope they get every one of them, but i fear that there might be too many. Up the security around Obama. These guys aren't just regular psychos, they're cunning and determined.

Well, if it turns out that they were going to assassinate Senator Obama, then that should justify why he needs alot of security. Also, no more people say that those who fear something like this are just trying to spread fear. -

--- I'm surprised to see you say that. I'm a conservative and I don't wish an assassination on anyone. I wish him health, happiness, and a long life - I just don't think he has the resume to be president.
Maybe the emotion that guides liberals makes them think conservatives are guided by emotion as well? VERY FEW conservatives HATE one politician or another. Our dislike for Clinton was due to his deeds and attitude - none of us wanted him killed. After all, he was our president too. -

This news is rather disturbing, but I think it should have been kept from the MSM just in case it gives anyone else the idea. If someone were to assassinate Obama it would be devastating for this country, especially if it were white supremacists like these guys. Imagine how far back that would set race relations. -

The sad thing is Harbeas, assassinations are rarely done for a disagreement in "politics". Take this attempt for example, it was put together by 2 white supremacists. I doubt they wanted to kill Obama for his economic plan, they just didn't want a black man as president.

How about his family or any black or any liberal for that matter?
If they could disrupt the DNC convention and go down in history while killing some people they think are the enemy, they would probably consider their lives successes.
All we know is they were well armed with a scope and rifle, had a bullet proof vest, had the hate and the drugs necessary to pull the trigger. Not a legitimate threat on Obama`s life? I call that wishful thinking, but even if true, that does not mean this was not a legitimate threat on the lives of all of those at the convention.

This is both sad and happy news. It's sad that there are animals like this in our country who feel using violence to change the outcome of an election is proper. If tried and convicted, they should face the death penalty. This is a form of treason.

While not a fan of Senator Obama, I'm please to see he and his family were not bothered or hurt by them. A person's race, color and creed are immaterial to the election process. We Americans; Democrat, Republican, or independent support the concepts and dreams of democracy along with the peaceful transfer of power when one president's term ends and another begins.
It's time for us to be united against animals like this and take steps to end their threats. Use the threat of force against any elected official or citizen of this nation and face the hand of justice. -

I wish I were surprised. My Mom told me of people she has talked to that are Dems who will not vote for him for the simple reason that he is black. I'm so ashamed, but my head is not in the sand. You can't force people not to be racist. One can only live by being a better example then that and telling those people how sad that is to their face. Sure changes how you feel about those you use to consider friends. This planet has so far to go, no matter how far we've come.

They started the Civil war when an abolitionist was elected.
They were part of the KKK.

They stood in the doorways of schools to try and stop desegregation.
The Democrats in Boston tried to turn over a buss loaded with black children being bussed.

I'm surprised no one brought up gun control here. I don't want to be a conspiracy nut, but with the recent supreme court ruling on the 2nd amendment, this could be the sort of thing anti gun nuts might conjure up to get guns banned all together.

Even if not, I just fear incidents like this are going to lead to more people in prison for drugs, less personal rights, the disarmament of the civilian population, and more tax dollars wasted on enforcement of these policies. Leave it to the scum of society to get people worked up and demand that our rights be taken away - gangsters, supremacist groups, and other assorted nut jobs.
