Upcoming Presidential Conventions - Reality TV or Soap Opera »
Posted By Stringcheese 10 months, 2 weeks ago in News…or a little of both?
Two weeks of political hype has officially started with the kick-off of the Democrat Party Convention, taking place in Denver this year, and culminating with McCain' s acceptance speech in Minneapolis at the Republican Convention next week.
Looking past the multi-million dollar stages being used at both the Democrat and Republican Conventions, is there really any substance to this year’s presidential coronation ceremonies?

Although the title of this story mentioned both conventions, the author wasted no time or effort to fire all of his Salvos at Obama and the Democrats. Seems like a whole lot of "sour grapes" to me. Maybe it's because the convention for the candidate that this author supports got shot down by John McCain today. In a misguided and misdirected reflex attack, he zeroed in on Hillary and Obama.

Bingo. That's why I watch it through the eyes of PBS, which is much more balanced.

People didn't know Michelle Obama, other than the tripe repeated over and over again by the MSM. Now they do. She's a lovely, talented, gracious woman.
And Kennedy....what can I say? The audiance and the DNC gave credit where it was deserved...sans the crap about the 'accident.'
The tone of the convention spoke to the party of my youth, & nothing anyone says will spoil the positive feeling that gave me. Nothing.

I found the whole thing quite boring. The tribute to Kennedy was good. I think he is a prime example of why we should do away with those idiotic term limits that so many states have.

Quietly, corporations and lobbyists fund the parties.
They have mis-judged the loyalty the Hillary supporters feel. They're not happy and I don't blame them ... she has been slighted badly and now they expect Hillary and Bill to make it all better.
It is becoming clear how self-centered the candidate is. The delegates have to sit there and express their support for a candidate they know is not the strongest choice.
And his latest line is that "McCain doesn't get it". He doesn't seem to get it ... -

No it isn't "headed into disaster", but you're proof positive that a sucker is born every minute.
