I completely understand Larkin. The Chicago Cubs have successfully lost for 99 years. If they ever win a Series, they'll lose what makes them special!

but can just anybody have 99/100 of a bad century?
          Think of the STRESS!
What if the Cubs fail to loose this last 1/100th of a century!
EVERYTHING is blown! All that hard earned losing swirls away as though they'd never lost at all!

Not to worry. Though for the first time in my memory, they have the best record in both leagues going into September, I have faith they'll choke in the playoffs.

I've been watching them since 1969, and they've never failed me!

As a Chicagoan, I would feel the need to defend the Cubbies...
But as it stands I'm a Brave's fan.

You have to give their fans credit, It must be REALLY hard to support them.

They just say "This is our year" because statically speaking at some point they just might be right.

Its like poker. If you keep playing a crappy hand at some point you're going to win with it by a total fluke.

You're really a loser if even your parents don't recognize you. Or at least don't want too.
