The one missing topic: Why Barack Obama was fit to be President. She did not make the case for his abilities, and I'm still waiting for that.

Otherwise, nice unity speech. Too bad Bill won't stay for the acceptance.

No one believes you care about Obama's qualifications. Save yourself some keystrokes next time.

Actually, I'm still deciding to whom I should vote. How would you know what I believe?

She didn't go in there to state why Obama was 'fit to be President'. Anyone who is objective enough to be persuaded, already knows why he is more than fit.

She was talking to those who have already acknowledged Obama's qualitites by selecting him in a long marathon process.

She was talking to the democrats.

Though, no doubt, she does have a few words put away for Republicans, somewhere.

Actually, I thought she was speaking to her supporters for most of the speech. And maybe her job wasn't to make Obama's case, but I was waiting for it.

I believe I'm objective enough to be persuaded, but I don't see anyone trying beyond platitudes about feel-good topics.

Now bigurn ... where did you learn your Civics?

Barack Obama is qualified because MILLIONS of Americans selected him after long consideration during a long, tedious, hard fought contest.

          Surely you must realize this.

It was just 6 years ago that my fellow Christian Conservatives preferred a different young man ....

          -- a man vowed to mediocrity ....
-- a man who ducked out of his National Guard duty because of impending, mandatory drug testing ....
          -- an admitted alcoholic ....
-- an admitted cocaine user ....
-- a stealer of land using Eminent Domain rather than a gun
          -- a deficit spender
-- one who would lie to launch an arbitrary war
-- one who evaporates surpluses like a puddle in an Arizona parking lot

Now ... my friendly fellow Christian Conservatives have steadfastly supported this young man ... even in spite of his recklessness .... which could have been predicted ... given his choice of Mediocrity as a Lifestyle Choice.

Maybe we should all consider that someone with much higher intellectual discipline .... we can expect a LOT more than the DISASTROUS last eight years.

Goppy, you said "Barack Obama is qualified because MILLIONS of Americans selected him after long consideration during a long, tedious, hard fought contest."

No, Goppy, that makes him the nominee. It says nothing about his qualifications for the Presidency.

And contrasting to Bush is not a logical argument, because the man isn't running. Also, it is not wise to suggest that one man is better because he didn't do all things that another man is done. What that points out is how little the other man has done. No one who has achieved greatness has avoided failure at some point.

Bill stole the show and made the point. I think he convinced a lot of fence sitters who were holding out for Hillary. Now, if Biden could just keep his mouth shut. He just isn't a speaker.

Wow, just negs and no discussion? I think Joe Biden is as whiney as George Bush Sr. He's been around a long time, so he'll be useful to Obama.

I don't know why you were negged, either. Bill did a wonderful job in his speech. I tend to agree, he convinced alot of the fence-sitters from Hillary's camp, its just about whether Biden can keep his mouth shut for the most part now. Biden's speech was pretty nice... not hard to see what his role is going to be, hitting McCain and hitting him hard. In that light its fairly obvious why Biden was chosen and it was why I thought he'd choose him. When it comes to hitting McCain, Obama is like a pea-shooter, Hillary is like a rifle and Biden is like a small nuclear weapon.
