GOP platform to call for anti-gay amendment »
Posted By david_nwpa 1 year, 2 months ago in News(Washington) Republicans are debating an election platform that differs in at least one striking way from the past - it' s purged of the dear-leader tributes that turned statements of party principles into an incessant hailing of the chief.

Once again, the Republicans have put forth a platform that is anti-gay and anti-women's rights. This old party, led by stodgy old, white-haired men is showing that it is made entirely of wealthy US aristocrats. The party of Lincoln? Hardly!

With all the problems and challenges facing this nation, it's hardly appropriate to worry about gays getting married. One wonders if this pandering is really necessary. It should be sufficient to support equal rights for all. Since the platform was shortened by half, I might suggest that it be shortened further. Every word added tends to exclude someone and the party needs to be more inclusive and less judgmental. Let their opponents do all the stereotyping.

Repuke platform planks:
Reply
Anti-gay, anti-woman, anti minimum wage, anti pension benefits, anti veterans benefits, anti medical care, anti union, anti environment, anti energy independence, anti jobs, anti anything that could possibly benefit a working class or middle class American.
Pro war, pro corporate welfare, pro exporting jobs, pro increasing the national debt, pro more tax cuts for ultra rich, pro huge government unfunded and budget busting, pro unlimited war spending, pro cost plus contracts for campaign donors and Repuke cronies. Pro big oil, big pharm, and big anything that can rip off the taxpayers and get away with it.
Yeah, gotta vote for McSame - America ain't quite finished yet, but he's the man that can do it. -

I have many friends who are conservative minded people and most are forward thinking people and yet when they join the conservative party up here they seem to follow the mindset of one step forward and two steps back and it seems the same happens down there. I always thought that it was the conservatives who wanted to let people live as they thought fit without government involvement, seems like that idea does not include personal freedoms.
