"While all infant formulas contain some added sugars to aid digestion, cane sugar is especially sweet and has prompted concerns about childhood obesity."

“The theory is that the sweeter formula will want to make them want to eat more, but still the parent is the one controlling how much they're eating with each feeding, so as long as they're eating a healthy amount with each feeding it's not going to be a difference, as far as obesity, long-term wise,” said pediatrician Lewley Weghorn. -

The sugar must be organic as well to be certified organic. Just because something is certified organic does not make it health food, people should always read the labels of everything they eat and take note of the quantity of sugars in each serving. Cane sugar is not bad in small quantities, at least it didn't have high fructose corn syrup in it, that stuff isn't even allowed in my house and its found in practically everything.

Obesity is caused by poor examples and access to food and no monitoring of what children do with their time. Obesity is a sit on my butt kind of video game insanity. If you compare the taste of formula to breast milk, you'll find that the breast milk is much sweeter. Do we want to overdo it, no. But it is a necessary evil to get our kids brains fed with enough fat and protein. There is more to it than just organic issues.
