    That's how I see it.
I have very logical reasons to vote for McCain, but Obama seems like, after all of the grandiose speeches, that he is an empty suit.
Anyone can come in and make promises of the planet healing itself, but that doesn't seem well grounded and people who buy into it are not basing their decisions logically.

For me, it comes down to character, morals, ethics, and judgment. Which is why I have no choice but to vote for Obama.

McCain is a reckless cannon that could go off at any minute for any reason, especially since he has so little understanding of the world. Look at how he cannot keep the Shia and Sunni straight, likewise for Iran and AQ. Dangerous!

The guy does not even know how many homes he has. His aide had to tell him what kind of car he drives! What kind of America or even man is he?? Is he just senile? His adultering ways make Bill Clinton look like an Eagle Scout. At least BC did not throw his wife and the mother of his children under the bus for $. BC also did not let the sex get in the way of his job and judgment ala Vicki Iseman.

McCain chose Phil `Enron Loves Me` Gramm as his economic advisor. With economic advisors like Gramm, who needs enemies? Not to forget that McCain has already sold out to the 159 lobbyists on his campaign. Obama refuses to be bought!

God said those who destroy the earth shall be destroyed. Obama is a good Christian, McCain has serious moral and Christian challenges. McCain cannot even make a grand speech, he looks and acts about as presidential as Mr. Magoo.

Looking at Obama, what do you feel is his greatest accomplishment?

You've asked that before, and you're not asking me, so I don't feel it a deflection if I ask you the same question.

What do you feel is Senator McCain's greatest accomplishment?

For the record, I think Obama has several accomplishments to be proud of, President of the Harvard Law Review, graduating near or at the top of his class. And even getting to where he is today. Don't underestimate the value of being able to rally the people together to support a common cause.

            1. McCain graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958 and became a naval aviator. I have an IQ of 148 and didn't get in there.

            2. While on a bombing mission over North Vietnam, he was shot down, badly injured, and captured as a prisoner of war by the North Vietnamese. He was held from 1967 to 1973, experiencing episodes of torture and refusing an out-of-sequence early release offer. WHO among us would volunteer to stay as a North Vietnamese POW to let others out first?

            3. While generally adhering to conservative principles, McCain has gained a media reputation as a "maverick" for disagreeing with his party on several key issues. His PROVEN ability to work in a bi-partisan fashion is noted and complimented by BILL CLINTON.

            4. He made campaign finance reform one of his signature concerns, which eventually led to the passage of the McCain(R)-Feingold(D) Act in 2002.

            5. He is also known for his work towards restoring diplomatic relations with Vietnam in the 1990s.

            6. McCain has chaired the powerful Senate Commerce Committee, and has been a leader in seeking to cut both pork barrel spending as well as Senate filibusters of judicial nominations.

            There are 6 for starters.

              1. McCain had an ace in the whole, his family probably factored heavily into his acceptance. Whether he has the IQ to justify it is hard to tell. From accounts, his work ethic is not what got him through school.

              2. His accomplishment here was being shot down? Or acting according to the rules set out in the military handbook? Based on the brotherhood among the military, and the fact that we don't hear about more POWs being court-martialed for accepting early-release, I think that amount of love for one's fellow brothers-in-combat is not that unique. Commendable, yes, I can't argue that.

              3. Yes, this is definitely a positive for him.

              4. Maybe he tried to make the system better, but it seems there are a lot of loopholes that he makes use of. This sortof belies his concern for campaign finance reform. If he were really interested in changing for ethical reasons, then why would he allow his campaign to go against the spirit of the legislation and make use of the loopholes?

              5. Excellent. He certainly was high profile and had a personal interest in the matter. Was there an accomplishment here? Or just work he did?

              6. So, what did he accomplish while chairing the committee. Definitely, cutting pork-barrel spending is great. What's the problem with Senate fillibustering of judicial nominations? Isn't that one of the necessary checks and balances imposed on the executive?

                  Spin and willottica,

I would like to commend you both on your civility in your discussion of the candidate's accomplishments. This is a rare treat on any social networking site. If more participants in these threads could debate without debasing each other it would be a much more positive experience for all involved, and may just start a trend on all the social sites. Kudos to you both!

"For me, it comes down to character, morals, ethics, and judgment. Which is why I have no choice but to vote for Obama."
--- Does voting against a measure to protect newborn babies after a botched abortion mean character, ethics, judgement and morals to you? Maybe think that through again, yes?

"McCain is a reckless cannon that could go off at any minute for any reason, especially since he has so little understanding of the world. Look at how he cannot keep the Shia and Sunni straight, likewise for Iran and AQ. Dangerous!"
--- It's one thing to mix up names... Obama said we have 58 states and wants to bomb Pakistan, for heaven's sake. Iran? He wants to have them over for dinner. That's not a clear understanding of the world, friend.

"The guy does not even know how many homes he has."
--- One house in escrow, another for sale, another owned by the family trust, two owned by the wife... Maybe I would also say, "I'll have my staff get back to you."

"adultering ways make Bill Clinton look like an Eagle Scout. At least BC did not throw his wife and the mother of his children under the bus for $. BC also did not let the sex get in the way of his job and judgment ala Vicki Iseman."
--- Are you referring to the affair he had with his current wife? Bill Clinton was accused of rape three times and you're calling him an Eagle Scout? Which troop? McCain's first wife, by the way, supports him in his run for the presidency and claims partial responsibility for the break-up.

"McCain chose Phil `Enron Loves Me` Gramm as his economic advisor. With economic advisors like Gramm, who needs enemies? Not to forget that McCain has already sold out to the 159 lobbyists on his campaign. Obama refuses to be bought!"
--- Obama has received contributions from 77 lobbyists and counting. Phil Gramm has more economic experience than Obama... I don't really get the attack there.

"God said those who destroy the earth shall be destroyed. Obama is a good Christian, McCain has serious moral and Christian challenges. McCain cannot even make a grand speech, he looks and acts about as presidential as Mr. Magoo."
--- Revelations 11:18 is referring to the seventh trumpet sounded by the seventh angel of judgement, upon which "God's temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm," and the reestablishment of Christ's kingdom after 7 years of rule by the antichrist... this is not referring to John McCain.

Good Christians do not support partial birth abortion, sorry, and as for the great speeches, they mean nothing if there is no substance.
