Obama: Respected Reporter Mobbed by Obama Followers in Radio Appearance »
Posted By Karlyc 10 months, 1 week ago in NewsObama supporters risibly complain that shining a light on the Obama/Ayers relationship is a “smear” and smacks of “guilt by association.” A presidential candidate’s choice to associate himself with an unrepentant terrorist would be highly relevant in any event — does anyone think the Obamedia would keep mum if John McCain had a long-standing relationship with David Duke or an abortion-clinic bomber?
But we are talking about more than a mere “association.”

That is some good reading. Sounds like Obama is running the mob or some sort of strong arm organization. Obama CAN'T control everyone and how they think. He really should grow up and take it like a man and not try to strong arm everyone who doesn't care for him or disagrees with him. People are going to be sorry when they get to really know him. God help this country.

I just wish someone would provide something besides INNUENDO when it comes to Obama's relationships.
Reply
Obama has a relationship with Ayers, a prominent fixture in the Chicago's political scene and a professor no less. And...
There's the problem. No punchline.
I don't know where Cons get off. The Foxies have Oliver North on the payroll. Why don't they ostracize a guy who sold weapons to our enemies?
And for those putting Clinton above country. Shame on you.-

Read the article again, then tell me that Obama is not trying to hide his dealings with Ayers. How does a 33 year old, with no experience get to run a program handing out $100,000,000 worth of grants, I want a job like that too!

Cons, The punchline is, that Ayers blew up the Pentagon, and is proud of it. If you see Obama hanging with Al quada members in another 30 years, but they are all prominant fixtures in another corrupt political scene and/ or professors now, would that be ok with you? The mans a known terrorist, not a hero, mentor or good relationship to have for someone running for president.

Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist who wished he bombed other targets.
Reply
Obama should fess up and explain why exactly he's holding on to him as a friend instead of trying to harrass/prosecute those who bring it up!
Darn right it's guilt by association-- when he should be associating with MAINSTREAM AMERICA and NOT terrorists.-

But, "he's only a guy from the neighborhood." The radio show host in Chicago is well known, but in the 30 years on the air, he's probably never had his switchboard light up with that many callers before. Someone wanted to flood out what might have been said or stop some questions from being asked. After all, it is Chicago, strong arming is just a way of life.

The Obama campaign orchestrated this:
Reply
"The campaign did, however, issue an “Obama Action Wire” that encouraged supporters to contact the program (telephone information was provided) and use scripted “talking points” to disrupt Kurtz’s appearance, which it deemed “unacceptable.” As the Politico’s Ben Smith reported, the campaign also urged supporters to demand that Rosenberg scrap the appearance of Kurtz, whom the campaign libeled as a “smear-merchant” and a “slimy character assassin.”

Kurtz is a Neocon who has pushed for the fusion of Church and State, fought against gay rights, and obstructed stem cell research. We won't even TALK about the jerks at the misnamed "ethics and public policy center..."

Kurtz is only "respected" by ultra-conservatives, not by normal people.
Who cares if he can't get his lousy smear in? Don't we have FoxNews to do that 24/7 already?-

Kurtz may be the devil himself. So what? If O has been involved in a multi-million dollar boondoggle to turn public schools into indoctrination camps, then that needs to come out. And Obama has to bear the outcome if this turns out to be true.
Reply
The WGN program invited the O campaign to send a spokesperson for an on-air rebuttal. They DECLINED and instead are attacking Kurtz and WGN.
If Kurtz' efforts turn up nothing, then good for Obama. He weathered another storm. If he doesn't like the heat, he can get out of the kitchen now. It doesn't get any cooler once he's in the Oval Office. -

It seems, by this article, that if you run a radio call in show, and people call in to disagree, that qualifies as being "mobbed." It also hints that if a group of people disagree and peaceably call in their objections, one by one, that is somehow unethical. Man, if Propeller had that kind of rule, they'd have no members and less advertising revenue.
Reply
If the US had that kind of rule, we wouldn't have political parties.-

Turn the story around and what would you say?
Reply
A liberal is slated to get on a talk show to discuss how great Obama is. A group of Republicans stir up a lot of people and give them talking points to call into the show. They try to smear this Obama person and have the show not air him. Then when the show airs the phone system lights up like never before and every caller just goes over the talking points. Call after call after call.
What would you be saying then. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Or would it be those hateful Conservatives are just smearing our man.
Why do I think it would be the latter.

Very good use of slander and insinuation in this article. So Obama is an anarchist? That IS what is suggested. Good! Anyone seeking to change the status quo that exists in Washington will need somehat of that quality. Somehow I doubt he is going to literally blow anything up! And UIC hired this guy! Some resume that must have been!
Reply
Frankly I much prefer the actual words that come out of Obama's mouth rather than insinuations to determine his views. This is the Rights best hope. You have an old, uninspiring candidate and a Party that has essentially disgraced America in the eyers of the world for 8 years. In no way, shape, or form does this tripe have a chance of changing my vote! -

The Ayers smear is getting old. Look, there is no question that Senator Obama and William Ayers know each other. No one is denying that. They served on a board together (the Annenberg Foundation), worked in two separate parts of the Woods Fund and Ayers hosted a meet and greet for candidate Obama when he was running for state Senate. He also donated $200 to Obama's campaign.
Reply
Now, none of these associations in any way suggest that Senator Obama looks to William Ayers as a mentor or counselor. Neither does it suggest that William Ayers is involved in Senator Obama's campaign. Also, Senator Obama has said repeatedly that Ayers is not someone with whom he "regularly speaks". So, based upon these facts, the only remaining conclusion is that what people like Kurtz are trying to do is build a case of guilt by association. There is no reliable information that leads us to the conclusion that Ayers and Obama are anything other than passing acquaintances.
On the other hand, since we are talking about associates of the candidates, Senator McCain associated closely with a convicted felon named Charles Keating. While Senator Obama has a passing acquaintance with a man who was once charged with a crime (the charges against Ayers were dropped due to prosecutorial misconduct), Senator McCain was close friends with Keating who was convicted of fraud, racketeering and conspiracy. Senator McCain accepted campaign donations from Keating (and his associates) exceeding $100,000. They were close, personal friends with Senator McCain traveling in Keating's private jet, spending time at Keating's personal resort in the Bahamas and investing in enterprises that Keating had. Now, it's true that Senator McCain did eventually pay for these trips, but that was not until Keating ran into trouble with regulators.
So, which is worse? A passing acquaintance with whom there is little contact other than business and social circumstances or a close, personal friend who is a convicted felon and bilked thousands of people out of millions of dollars?
I know what I would say.-

I can tell you what my fellow Christian Conservatives would say .... this is what they tell me ....

"We Christian Conservatives, in our role of protectors of our Re-Interpreted Version of what Jesus taught ... believe that we commanded to vote for the candidate that will prolong the policies of:"
-- War ... (Christians REALLY support unending war!)
-- Lying to promote war
-- Keeping children from getting access to Health Care
-- Pollution ... we LOVE pollution AND protecting Polluters!
-- Global Warming Deniers ... Denying Global Warming is a Holy Sacrament!
-- Fighting AGAINST the GI Bill and Education for American Soldiers
-- Massive Deficit Spending on an unheard of scale
-- Refusal to talk to foreign leaders we don't fancy
-- Fire Attorneys General who don't prosecute Democrats on a whim
-- Hire Attorneys General who promise to pursue our partisan ideology
-- Protect Government employees who out CIA agents
-- Incompetence in handling national emergencies
-- Hand out Free Money to the Wealthy ... as a reward for being so rich
These are all things that my fellow Christian Conservatives cite as reasons to support the Neo-Conservative Movement ... and these items are what makes Christian Conservatives proud to be Christian.
Now, is it any wonder why Christian Conservatives voted for George W. Bush by like 92%?
I guess the only question remaining is .... why do Christian Conservatives call themselves 'Christian' ... because clearly ... their hardline political beliefs have more to do with backwards bigotry and political expediency than Religion. -

The problem is what Obama said about his relationship with Ayres. "He's just a man living in my neighborhood." "We have a friendly relationship." Implying that they just wave at each other and chit chat when by chance they are at the same place. If he would have admitted it was more there would not be this hunt for what they really to each other.
Reply
Obama brought this on himself. He also threw down the gauntlet in his acceptance speech. Now he has to live with what he said.

Hey, that's cool. Keep bringing up Ayers and we'll keep bringing up Keating. I'm pretty sure a guy who was convicted of plundering Lincoln Savings and Loan and bilking people (especially older people) out of millions trumps a guy who hasn't been convicted of anything and never hurt anyone.

Interesting casual association between OBama and Ayers:
Reply
FTA:
As he has made clear several times before and after helping to launch Obama’s political career, Ayers remains defiantly proud of bombing the Pentagon, the U.S. Capitol, and other targets.
Ayers and Obama have made joint appearances together; they have argued together for “reforms” of the criminal justice system to make it more criminal-friendly; Obama gushed with praise for Ayers’ 1997 polemical book on the Chicago courts; and they sat together for three years on the board of the Woods Fund, a left-wing enterprise that distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to their ideological allies. Most significant, they worked closely together on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC).
The CAC was a major education reform project, proposed by Ayers, which was underwritten by a $49.2 million grant from the Annenberg Foundation, complemented by another $100 million in private and public funding. The project ran for about five years, beginning in 1995. As the liberal researcher Steve Diamond has recounted, Ayers ran its operational arm, the “Chicago School Reform Collaborative.” Obama, then a 33-year-old, third-year associate at a small law firm, having no executive experience, was brought in to chair the board of directors, which oversaw all “fiscal matters.”
Can you disprove the author's line of reasoning that OBama and Ayers had more than a casual personal or political relationship?

Good find Karlyc. This brings to light again the Obama campaign's efforts to divorce him from his radical mentors who helped him to his present position. Obama simply can not refute his past associations. They made him who he is today. He can claim all he wants that he is post-racial, post partisan or post-toasties, the fact remains that he was incubated in a far-left and racist group of anti-American mentors.

Please, Consider the source! First, the article is an editorial written by the editors of National Review, a conservative magazine.
Their interests are to hunt for anything they can to throw at Obama. This is what they live for. This article boils down to NOTHING… it’s just their opinion. Holding some vague truths and built into twisters. It’s their art.
When it comes down to it… everybody knows it’s just fluff. It pans out to be just that…
