This is very simply pay-back time for Kosovo.
The idiocy of creating THAT "independent" state, which has NO viability whatsoever, is now being brought home to roost.
Tighten your seat-belts, chaps - this is all going to get a lot worse before it can possibly get better.

gama, its not for Kosovo because Bill Clinton had the OK from the Russians, China and all of NATO before we went in there. Dumya has just shown the world that he can get away with preemptive war... and emboldened the world, especially Putin!

Every country has the God given right to self determination!

The former Chief Prosecutor for International Tribunal says Clinton was also just playing power games and that we have been deluded about Kosovo.

International Criminal Tribunal: The US lied about Yugoslavia

The former chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia in The Hague, Carla Del Ponte, this year published her memoir The Hunt: Me and War Criminals. There was no genocide in Kosovo. The "holocaust" was a lie. The Nato attack was fraudulent.

          gama,

You are closer to the ground than we are.

Was the crazy move by the Georgian President that caused the present crisis?

All signs seem to indicate that.

Yes. For Georgia to join NATO would be highly provocative.
Lets also not forget that Georgia was the birthplace of Stalin who, though discredited on many levels in the Soviet worldview, still retains iconic status.
