    seriously.

by picking palin, mccain undercut his own arguement about the need for experience.

its also clear that mccain picked palin solely to help him win the presidency, not for the very real and important job of vice president.

and what's totally obvious is that palin was not his first choice. mccain has only spoken to her once, so how could she be? which means something went very wrong during the selection process.

palin's feel good story will wear off in a few hours, and then its all bad for mccain.

You liberals just kill me. Sarah Palin is 2nd on the ticket, not 1st. She has a wealth of more experience than Obama.
Obama - no executive experience, never governed anything, spent approx 2 years in senate, rest of time was launching presidential bid, never wrote any major piece of legislation, has no foreign policy experience. Promotes himself as a change agent, yet picks an old school Washington Senator for a running mate.
Palin - Had 5 years of executive experience before Obama was even elected to senate. Was a mayor, and now governor of Alaska. As opposed to senators, governors make critical decisions everyday. She cleaned up corruption in her own party. Ran against an incumbent republican governor and won. Has a 80% favorable rating as governor.

She is actually under investigation for firing Alaska’s Public Safety Commissioner because he wouldn't fire a police officer who was Palin's ex-brother-in-law. Hell hath no fury...

She has been instructed turn over emails and records. The beauty queen is in trouble after only 2 years in office.

after eight years of bush, its obvous that "executive experience" doens't mean squat.

that line already doesn't work. you'll have to come up with something better.

I suggest that you look at the links I provided below about the result of having Palin as "executive". She was in over her head as Mayor of Wasilla and is racking up the same record of failure as governor of Alaska.

you're absolutely right, palin was most likely not his first choice. i had been thinking that it was just bad judgement on mccains part and that he reacts to instinct rather than using logic.

What did Clinton's use of Jimmy Carter's experience get us in North Korea?

You Democrats have already proven how dangerous "experience" can be when it's detached from reality.

And the argument McCain makes is intact inasmuch as Palin has had to make--as governor--executive decisions that would make or break her as a state politician. She currently enjoys a positive rating among Alaskans well North of 80%. However, I think focus on experience is unhealthy for both ticketc. Focus on the negative is likewise not going to serve either party well.

Obama and McCain need to focus on presenting themselves and their policies to the American people. We're not stupid...we can make the decision that we believe is best for the country.

What did voting for Bush twice get us besides 8 long years of sheer hell on earth? Exactly... ;-(

and bush had plenty of "executive experience" going in.

exec experience obviously don't mean squat. that line already doesn't work when faced with the reality of the bush administration.

the cons will have to come up with something new. which is not their forte.

Clinton was an executive and he had a chance to put Osama away and chose not to.If he had we would not have had a 9/11 and would not have had to send our troops to fight for our country. Wake up people. Your right executive experience in itself does not work. It is the way you govern that matters. Sarah Palin has done more in her short stay in office than Obama/Biden has done combined. As Bill Clinton says best, You have candidate x (Obama) that believes everything that you do and candidate y (Mccain) that only believe in half but your don;t believe x Obama will do anything and you believe y mccain will. Who do you vote for. Let me see, one that won;t do anything or one that will? I vote for mccain/palin

Sounding more desperate by the minute Georgia.

Alaskan republicans just chose a corrupt doddering old fool (Ted Stevens) again - pretty much shows their incompetence. As for Palin, she was in over her head as mayor of a town of 5000 and is clearly in over head as governor of a state with 700,000 people.

So Many Republican Hypocrites, So Little Time
Alaskan Republicans voting for Ted Stevens

Your U.S. Senator is under indictment for corruption. He has shown signs of a lack of understanding of the 21st Century. And he's been around for a long time, and is older than John McCain by 13 years.

So you have a primary with a chance to substitute someone else in your party to run in a tight battle in November. And what do you do?

                      ....

You had a shot at putting democracy and even party ahead of corruption, and you failed. So we proudly give to the 63% of Republicans who voted for Ted Stevens this week the GOP Hypocrite of the Week award.

The Ole shuck and jive boy spews from his pores "change and hope" and appoints Biden a 35 year veteran of the washington game. A warmonger who announced more than once Obama wasnt fit to be president. A washington game player that has his own son lobbying for him... YOUR shuck and jive boy was just FLUSHED.

Palin has more experience in her big toe then the big shuck and jive boy has in his entire scrauny body.. a JOKE
