Stevens and Palin are admitted close friends. She's also one of his staunchest defenders. I wondered how long it would take for her to throw him under the bus. I guess we have an answer.

"On July 11, 2008, Palin dismissed Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan for not adequately filling state trooper vacancies, and because he "did not turn out to be a team player on budgeting issues."[55] She instead offered him a position as executive director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, which he turned down.
Her power to fire him is not in dispute, but Monegan alleged that his dismissal was a retaliation for his reluctance to fire Palin's former brother-in-law, Alaska State Trooper Mike Wooten, who had been involved in a divorce and child custody battle with Palin's sister, Molly McCann.[58] Palin is currently being investigated by an independent investigator hired by the Alaska Legislature[59] to determine whether she abused her power when she fired Monegan. The investigation is scheduled to end October 30, only days before the November 4 presidential election."- wikipedia entry

this is one of the main reasons i find McCains pick of Palin so odd. She is a Republican, in a state where almost all the big name republicans are under investigation, indicted, going to jail, or already in jail from the Veco Oil scandal.

But she is female, supposed to get him the Hillary vote, and she is a creationist and pro-life, which should draw the fundies.

Good Morning btv! I just have one correction (IMHO) to make to your statement above - you used the term "pro life", which is so inaccurate - they are "anit-abortion" - period. "Pro-life" in and of itself does not include bombing abortion clinics, murdering doctors, sending our men & women (boys and girls in many cases) off to die in a needless invasion of Iraq! Pro-life my azzzz.

Oh, and I cannot imagine her getting the female Democrat vote - not from this gal or anyone else I know!

You're so right, Dobes Rule. I stand corrected. In fact she is against abortion even in cases where the mother's life is in danger or where the pregnancy is the result of rape.

BTW, I just finished making some really good submissions. Be sure to check in your Friends Submissions.

All good points Dobes_Rule. They seem to be for violent retroactive abortion though. As in the Iraq Abortion.

Is'nt it interesting that it's 'refreshing' to be inexperienced now.
                  Typical hypocritical Republican thinking.
I guess they were really impressed with her PTA leadership.
Her ratings, as of now, are as low as Dan Quayle's were.
