Resorting to the movie industry to fight Al-Qaeda ideology, the Yemeni government is supporting a feature film to stop Osama bin Laden's organization recruiting young Yemenis, the Christian Science Monitor reported on Friday, August 29. "The film is part of our efforts to enlist the help and cooperation of the Yemeni people," Interior Minister Mutahar al-Masri said.

" The film is meant to alert Yemeni youth against Al-Qaeda group and to show that Islam does not promote violence.

"The film deals with a very important issue which is to uproot the malignant seed of terrorism, and also educate people about its ideas that have nothing to do with Islam and Yemeni traditions," said producer Fadl al-Olfi.

"We wanted to portray the radicalization process taking place within a community, to alert young people to the signs of extremism and show family members they can help by informing the authorities about worrying behavior." "

YES!! I wish I could prop this story 1,000 times. Education and hope are the best ways to fight fear. Time and again I have read about the ignorance of the common people of those lands. I hope this is just the start. Salute!

Good Post expursuit. I would hope that the Movie Industry would make several films that don't take on the look of "Propaganda", in other words movies with a theme and a plot. More people pay attention to the message in a good show than ever let soak in an "Instructional" film about political behavior.

I hope that this message will be spread across the middle east. The youth need to be alerted to the brain washing and radicalization of Islam. It's not just Yemeni traditions at risk, the teachings of peace, and love for all our Islamic brothers is also at risk.

I wish it was only ignorance. The problem is verses like the sword verse and the Hadith demonstrating how Muhammad lived that part of the Quran. Then there is the historic way that Islam spread from the Atlantic to Pacific and north to Tours, France and just outside Vienna. That is a very bloody history. That is what the Al-Qaeda promotes. The conquering the world by force until all are under Sharia law. That is Osama bin Laden's avowed aim.
