Obama Offers a Beautifully Packaged Lie »

Posted By Spinward 1 year, 3 months ago in News

Here's an example that is small but revealing. Obama led with the best sales pitch he has to offer: that he is not George Bush. But of course, Obama is running against John McCain, not Bush. So he attempted to justify the substitution by claiming that "John McCain has voted with George Bush ninety percent of the time." This statistic has been used throughout the Democratic convention, but it makes no sense. Bush is not a member of Congress and casts no votes there--so how can you compare his voting record to that of McCain?

Obama's speech was filled with distortions, followed by quotes out of context, followed by outright impossibilities, followed by logical disconnects...

Now, Sarah Palin steals his wind and BREAKS the glass ceiling that Hillary cracked.

    Sorry, libs... it's over.

Spinward, this is a great article.

You hit this one out of the park! How can Obama attack this woman?
I agree, this will be a huge shift in momentum toward McCain.

Now here's one part of the Obama speech that was particularly clever. Obama really does plan to raise taxes on the very people, small businessmen and women, who are providing about 80% of the new jobs our economy is producing. How you say? Well, Obama's response last night was to say that "I will eliminate capital gains taxes for the small businesses and start-ups that will create the high-wage, high-tech jobs of tomorrow."

Here, again, is where the ignorance of the American voter comes into play. I can just hear some liberals now: "That buckncindykill said that Obama was going to raise taxes on these small businessmen. Obama said he is going to eliminate them. There! I knew it! buck is a liar!"

Pay attention now. Obama said he was going to eliminate capital gains taxes. These small businessmen generally don't pay capital gains taxes. They pay income taxes. Obama's plan is to raise the income taxes on these entrepreneurs. Telling the American people that he will cut their capital gains taxes is simply a charade; a charade the uneducated will buy.

      FTA
"Barack Obama can fake sincerity, and that, more than the words of a speech or the pageantry that precedes it, is the key to his power as a speaker."
      Nuff said.
OBama deflects or respins a lot of facts and issues because he is so believable at appearing to be sincere.
Sincerity should come from experience which, in this case, OBama does not really have or understand enough to appreciate.
As an example; it is one thing to actually be a 'returning combat soldier' however, it is another thing to view the combat experience through the 'comfortable psychology' of an individual that has only experienced a secure and stable environment and knows only about the 'stories of war' not the actual experience of war.
      Excellent article.

The Republicans I have heard today are JACKED about the Palin pick. I heard one and only one negative reaction from a Republican. I had to drive all day, and spent nearly all of it on the phone in conferences about this.

Side note: A friend owns a private box at Invesco Field. The Kennedys offered "a significant six-figure sum" to his charitable fund for the use of the box. His reaction was no, and the Kennedys couldn't understand why anyone wouldn't take their money. They were very P'd.

I may be mistaken, buy I believe Gov. Palin auctioned off the previous Governor's jet on eBay for a profit for the state, and vetoed the bridge to nowhere. Let's see... cut $250 million for the bridge, sold the governor's jet for more than he paid for it. Hmmm..... fiscally responsible. THAT is the leadership we need in Washington!!!!!

Her 2 years as Governor far outweighs Obama's 143 days as a Senator before running for POTUS.

Lets see. You write your own opinion piece and post it here. Interesting. Desperate, but interesting.

"Bush is not a member of Congress and casts no votes there--so how can you compare his voting record to that of McCain?"

You've got to be kidding. That is one of the most pathetic (and amateurish) attempts at distortion I can remember. He votes along the Bush line! Bush says "I like this" or "I don't like that" and that is how McCain votes. But then you already knew that didn't you?

Mrs. Palin...... An All American Woman who definately doesn't represent old school politics that we have seen the last 30 years in Washington, DC. McCain has added a needed 'wringle' to his campaign in a true, proven reformer much unlike the 'change' artist on the other ticket who is trully unproven although a great speaker when a teleprompter is provided. GREAT PICK!

What Obama did as an organizer:
            "Obama Meets Acorn
What has Barack Obama got to do with all this? Plenty. Let’s begin with Obama’s pre-law school days as a community organizer in Chicago.

Few people have a clear idea of just what a “community organizer” does. A Los Angeles Times piece on Obama’s early Chicago days opens with the touching story of his efforts to build a partnership with Chicago’s “Friends of the Parks,” so that parents in a blighted neighborhood could have an inviting spot for their kids to play.

This is the image of Obama’s organizing we’re supposed to hold. It’s far from the whole story, however. As the L. A. Times puts it, “Obama’s task was to help far South Side residents press for improvement” in their communities.

Part of Obama’s work, it would appear, was to organize demonstrations, much in the mold of radical groups like Acorn."

I can see why, after reading the top story here, why and how
              Shrub got 'elected'.
Nothing has been said that Bush 'voted' with McCain or vice versa.
It's the fact that McCain has 'AGREED' with Shrub
90% of the time that's perplexing.
              Get educated!

This article is full of lies and distortions. The biggest ones are that free markets actually exist and that the markets which are closest to being free don't require government regulations.

There are such things as markets without government regulation, for example "black markets", but they are not free.

And when I say "free market" I mean the accepted definition:

"A free market is a market in which prices of goods and services are arranged completely by the mutual consent of sellers and buyers. By definition, in a free market environment buyers and sellers do not coerce or mislead each other nor are they coerced by a third party."

                http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_market

Show me a "free market" and I'll show you regulation of the market by the government.

Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, McCain entered the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. There, he was a friend and informal leader for many of his classmates,[10] and sometimes stood up for people who were being bullied.[5] He also became a lightweight boxer.[11] McCain came into conflict with higher-ranking personnel, he did not always obey the rules, and that contributed to a low class rank (894 of 899) which he did not aim to improve.[10][12] He did well in academic subjects that interested him, such as literature and history, but studied only enough to pass subjects he struggled with, such as mathematics.[5][13] McCain graduated in 1958.[10]
