ACtually you got that partly right. Obama did pick someone well versed in foreign affairs but also someone who takes the train home each night rather than live inside the beltway which does make him different than other members of congress.

McCain on the other hand picked someone who might have trouble even defining what foreign affairs is. On top of that being the governor, for less than two years, of a state smaller in population than Charlotte North Carolina is not the executive experience needed to run this country.
Bottom line is Obama picked someone who could step in and take over immediately if needed. McCain on the other hand, being possibly the oldest person to take that office in history and with a history of cancer, has picked a VP least likely of all to step in if needed early in a term. There were many other republicans who also are women that he could have picked with decades more experience. On to of it all he can no longer harp on experience as an issue with Obama since his VP choice has absolutely no experience in foreign affiars where Obama has worked in the senate.-

Another issue here, I'm sorry to bring up but, Obama already has had threats against his life. Besides, McCain is in great shape health wise. With his money, don't you think he has a list of doctors who have already checked him over top to bottom? If there was anything they were worried about, I think it would have already surfaced.
