Who scrubbed Wikipedia's entry for Sarah Palin just before nom announcement? »

Friday's edition of the NPR program All Things Considered included a piece by Yuki Noguchi on some suspicious whitewashing that went down in Sarah Palin's Wikipedia entry just before she was revealed as the GOP's candidate for vice-president. "Someone — and apparently it was just one person — felt like the existing biography wasn't appropriate for a vice-presidential candidate. On Friday, 15 minutes before the rumor that John McCain had picked Palin as his running mate, a Wikipedia editor discovered 30 mostly favorable changes had been made to the Alaska governor's profile."

    Jordan thanks for the article…

But I agree, such info is not appropriate for Wikipedia.

More work from The Ministry of Truth (aka, Minitrue). Folks, adopt and argue for all the positions you want, ideological or not, supportable or not, right-wing or left-wing or not. That's our right in a free country, even if it sometimes gets us into trouble. But everyone needs to step back and think about whether we really want to support ends-justify-the-means political tactics and forge a nation where we actually and actively bury truth, where propaganda replaces debate over fact, and lies told at the highest levels are indistinguishable from responsible leadership. Come on, can't we at least agree that there has got to be a limit to self-interested behavior for decent, ethical people? Or have we really fallen into the hole and no longer believe decency and ethics to be crucial?

Curiouser and curiouser. This might be the tip of a rather nasty iceberg, especially if the scrubbing hides some of her scarier views.

I also found this website, that might be insightful on her views.

          http://www.ontheissues.org/Sarah_Palin.htm

Where is she on immigration? Foreign policy? Trade? She has a lot to speak on (the least of which is her past and her family).

Isn't this all just a ploy from McCain's camp to divert some attention away from what looks to be the next president?

And who scrubbed MY wickepedia page?
I can't find 'Crymtyphon' in there anywhere!

As for Palin's; I would guess that a McCain handler did it, as part of the preparation for the announcement.

Not McCain himself, of course, since he is still a little nervious around computers and has the idea they start to smoke and burn if you ask they an illogical question like 'Why?', or 'How is success in Iraq equivalent to reaching a state resembling how it was before we invaded it?'.

Actualy, that last one could smoke and burn things some.
