    This is not fascism?
Did anyone notice how every link on the "Googles" on the "internets" to Palin were down? Even Crooks and Liars? they seem to mostly be back up having been scrubbed of things like Ted Stevens endorsements and such. If this is not a form of fascism what is?

there are two sides to every story. Was this an attempt at provocation?

CNN Earlier Monday, a group of self-described anarchists threw park benches into streets and smashed windows, police said.

"I think they did a disservice to those that came here to protest," he said.

Besides damaging private property, the group also smashed in the windows of five squad cars. iReport.com: Protesters swarmed at RNC

are any indication of the mindset of the protesters, its not hard to understand why the police were extra nervous. I

t seems increased reports of violence and damage were streaming in, and arrests escalating. A band of several hundred more vocal protesters broke off, apparently to confuse and outflank the police, which further raised the temperature at the scene.

From the tape, it seems Amy was told she had to use the sidewalk, but when she persisted in going across the promenade (or whatever) the cop asked her again to go to the sidewalk. She may, or should have, known today wasn't a day to test the police resolve.

Again, if the cops violated any rules or laws...well, that's what the courts are for.I

The anarchists were not the press. Essentially law reenforcement was hitting everyone with a borad stick. When you have an official press pass to the RNC event, you have security clearance and full access. The Police were not in the mood to follow the rules and just bashed everyone who objected to them.

Law and Order party, eh? Reciprocation for Operation Chaos? Wait until the lawsuits are filed. Happened with the WTO Battle in Seattle. Many cops were fired as a result.

I can't believe it but I agree with Klarissa on this one. The police have their hands full with protesters trying to test the police. Its the cops job to keep peace, if anything the video vindicates the cops.

And the press' job is to record and report.

I don't understand how arresting someone for asking a question keeps the peace. Not to mention that journalists have even more of a right to ask questions without fear of arrest, then us, regular folk.

As a matter of fact, it seems more like a characteristic of a totalitarian or police state. Even in Soviet Union that kind of policy has for the most part died with Stalin.

The Press is there to do there job, just like a carpenter building a house. They carry a bunch of expensive stuff with them and usually where there is news there are cops.
                  They work together.
                  This is nuts.
Of course the front person would stand up for her co-workers and expect the respect that her hard earned credentials deserve.
                  She had a badge!
The folks that busted her did not!
Neither did the folks that told her producer to put her face on the ground.
Carpenters do Demolition as well, if they have to.

I was taking the video at face value. I don't believe the press has more freedom or rights than the average citizen, they are journalists not public servants. If they are given specials passes to allow them access to certain places, thats fine but right or wrong they have to follow orders like everyone else. Perhaps I'm off base here but i don't think so.

Wow, this reminds me of the Democratic Convention last week.
