Mind reading again? Sure you can guess what each and every poster on this thread knows and doesn't know. I also knew when the "under God" was added. I've actually mentioned it on propeller before. While I didn't remember off the top of my head the year it was written, I knew it was somewhere in the mid to late 19th century. Wow, I'm more knowledgeable of American history than the republican vice presidential nominee. Amazing.

And there is the silliness of the whole thing, Rat.

So she made a comment about the Pledge of Allegiance and now knuckleheads want to suggest that she's dumb or that they know more about history than she does. Amazing.

Since you're so smart about history, try telling the Wonder Boy that there are only 50 states, not 57.

      See, pretty silly, ain't it?

I agree, SOTM, it's pretty silly.

All of the candidates have mostly good track records, IMO. It's mostly which issues I deem most important that ultimately drives my vote in the end.

100% of the people who have ever run for office or posted to propeller have committed gaffes--or, as you Christians might put it, "come short of the glory of G-d." (Romans 3:23)

Palin introduced herself as a stay at home soccer mom. She was probably part of the PTA, baked cupcakes and attended class trips to the zoo. There is nothing wrong with that. However, the women that most females identify with can not afford to stay at home while hubby goes to work. She has a pregnant daughter, a special needs child, and other younger children. Are you saying that now there will be a roll reversal and the husband will stay home? I applaud her for being a whistle blower (in my neighborhood, whistle blowers are called snitches, trouble makers, etc) and it is the easiest way to make it to the "black list". I think Ms. Palin should stay home and take care of her family and if she is really serious about the V.P. in a few years she should hook up with a real winner like Hillary who could really show her the ropes.

She's been active politically since 1992 and minored in political science in college. She has worked side-by-side with her husband in the fishing industry, although not officially "employed." I like the fact that she has a special needs child and a pregnant daughter. It makes her seem more human, and I think it adds to her understanding of the issues families face.

I disagree with her religious views, but I believe in separation of church and state, and I've always voted for people whose religious beliefs I didn't share (I don't believe in the supernatural).

It will come down to the issues for me, since I'm not completely comfortable with either pair, while I really like some aspects of both.
