I pos'd you, SOTM--we've had several discussions about this on propeller in the past, where the vast majority of posters were unaware of this--both repubs and dems. I always encourage them to find the old Porky Pig cartoon. "Old Glory," that predated the change.

"Under God" was added when the repubs controlled the White House and both houses of congress, during the Eisenhower administration, and was a response to the "anti-God" message of communism.
