Boy, that's funny. Nothing like a little snide elitist Democrat humor, eh?
Reply
I guess the "Clampetts" you mention are probably related to these folks that Obama described for us:
"It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or anti-pathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
In fact, gun-owners and religious folk are Palin's kind of people...that's sure to make Barry bitter.-

What's really funny is your referral to Democrats as elitist. Bush, McCain, and nearly every Republican politician were born with a silver spoon in their mouths and they have audacity to call Democrats elitist. Perry mason would be proud of the red herrings that the Republicans use to cover their own faults. Mr. MaGoo sure made a blunder with this pick.

PS If you insist on putting the wrong name in as the Democrat we can return the favor.-

You're right lfergie. I should be more precise.

Instead of "elitist Democrat" let's say "elitist Democrat politicians that supporters insist on having as presidential contenders". Better!
Between..
Barry the Boy Wonder's stiff-necked, highbrow comments including the one above about blue-collar, religious Americans;
Kerry (your last elitist nominee) and his comment about how only stupid poor people have to end up in the military over in Iraq;
Edwards who insisted on the idea of "two" Americas...and then proved it by cheating on his cancer-stricken wife and then lying through his teeth about it...one American for him and one for everybody else;
Kennedy...well, I'll refrain out of respect for his health...
I mean, goodness! Almost makes Hillary look good. Almost. Well, no, not really. At least the Dems finally wised up to ole Slick Willie even if the Hildabeast almost hung on to the nomination...-

Son, do you want to go there with Edwards and his cancer stricken wife after the way Newt did his wife. At least Edwards had the decency to NOT go on TV and ask for a divorce from Elizabeth while she was in the hospital. Sometimes we have to chose our battles wisely.

When did Newt run for President? Apples and oranges?
Edwards and decency hardly seem to belong in the same sentence. He cheated on his wife, excused it as being while she was "in remission", tried to hide it while he ran for President. C'mon, really? Really you want to defend him? You should be thanking the National Enquirer for putting out the story. Enquiring minds want to know.-

Edwards was ACTUALLY a presidential nominee not ONCE but TWO times!!! When was Newt EVER actually running for president? When did he EVER actually announce as a candidate?
You remind me of those commercials where at the end they say...
Priceless.-

Get your his facts straight. Edwards is not the presidential candidate for president had never has been. He was the VP candidate sure but not the presidential candidate. As for Newt read this web site.

Fact: Edwards ran for the presidential nomination in BOTH 2004 and 2008. In 2004, Kerry selected him as his vice presidential running mate.
Fact: Newt Gingrich was NEVER an official candidate for president. He expressed interest in 2007 but never declared his candidacy.-

Newt found out he didn't have a chance even with republicans so he didn't run. LMAO Edwards name was placed in nomination I will buy but he was not the Democratic choice for president so that does not make the attack on Edwards justified when Republicans have done worse. There are way too many skeletons in both parties closets but Edwards is history and to compare him to the present Democrat candidate is ludicrous. More red herrings when the discussion is about Palin's lack of qualification because of her possible cover-up.

And McCain cheated on his, Craig cheated on his, Rudy cheated on his, and Newt cheated on his wife while leading the lynch mob to get Clinton impeached for the same thing! Like i said, sometimes we need to pick our battles wisely, running for pres or not, they have had very powerful positions.

Running for president or not, it says a lot about his character, just the same as it does for anyone who cheats on a souse they took for better or worse. Plus it's usually conservatives who bring this topic up first, liberals are generally put on the defensive regarding this.

Of all the candidates the Republicans had to chose from they chose a senile old fool. Sorry but his age is showing.
Of all those you mentioned, only Kerry came from a rich family. Now how does one rich presidential candidate make all Democratic candidates elitist. No it's the stuff shirt Republicans that are elitist and the Democrats as a general rule work their way to the top and that really tees off the Republicans. Why they tried to bring down the Clinton's for 8 years with millions of taxpayers dollars and never found anything wrong with Whitewater. Now on the other hand we have Mccain involved with the "Keating Seven" and not a word is heard from the press. "McCain reporting for duty sir"
There are too many Republicans in glass houses to throw stones at Edwards.-

Well, if our VP is a drunk, but i'm not saying he is.. at least our Presidential Nominee isn't.. We've been dealing with a drunk for the last 8 years though, and God only knows what else he has been doing on top of that. TOO many times he couldn't even make a speech that was understandable.

Sorry, Son, but she's a Fundamentalist (connected to "Dominionists") running on the "Family Values" platform, pushing abstinence which is obviously UNSUCCESSFUL and this calls into question her general accuracy and effectiveness for the immense and complex job of running the United States of America.

Democrats have no family values.
70% of blacks are born out of wedlock.
Bill Clinton spent his time in office cheating on Hillary.
Edwards lied to us during his bid for President and cheated on his wife making babies.
Dems think it's ok to murder babies.
Thats ok though. Sarah is on the right party.-

We are not talking about Liberals, automouth, we are talking about the qualifications Sarah Palin, Fundamentalist Christian VP candidate of the United States (from her own mouth), and your deflection techniques are transparent, boring, and illustrate your intellectual bankruptsy when trying to discuss a problem like this.

A lot of Americans will sympathize with the Palin family, and a lot will be in a position to empathize. One lesson of the Clinton era should have been that the public, except for "the vast right-wing conspiracy," is not interested in the personal family, or the personal financial foibles of our candidates or representatives.

I think there's plenty of skeletons in everyone's closets, it's just that republicans want to appear to be the party of God, Family Values and NOW have changed their name to Social Conservatives, since there's so much dirt in their party they can't use the same old same old any more.

There are lots of skeletons everywhere. I just wish the Christian Conservatives would show as much compassion toward the poor girls who get pregnant as they show toward Miss Palin. Who knows, it could perhaps even prevent a few abortions.-

I was thinking today that this might be a help to girls who find themselves pregnant. So many conservatives are hateful and mean to girls who have sex "out of wedlock", that keeping a child in those circumstances is like a sentence to ostracism. You're right, it might even stop a few abortions if these girls were treated better.

I think you're missing the whole point of the Conservative Movement which isn't uncommon among some of our liberal friends here. First, we're disappointed in the choices Miss Palin made when it comes to the premarital activities. We're pleased that she's decided to have the baby and that her family is clearly supporting her. The key phrase there is family. It's not the state, county or city officials putting her up on welfare, paying for the prenatal and postnatal care. Her family is clearly standing with her. This isn't the case in many of our large cities. Often we see children raising children on the government's dime. This is a whole social issue that cannot be solved on the pages of propeller. Heck, it's a problem created in 1967 and we still haven't figured out how to deal with it.

I see the Dems going overboard on attacking Palin and her pregnant teenage daughter. They don't look so compassionate just about now and I think that it will come back to bite them on the ass when women go to the polls. Women headed to the polls, this is what the Dems really think about you and the responsibilities of parenthood.

But Dcky do you really think this will blot out women voters' memory of ads trashing Britney Spears and Paris Hilton to score political points against Obama, and McCain's disgraceful track record of using women, tossing them to the side and basically acting like a skank? Exactly...It won't do that at all. Dial that argument back several notches 'cause it won't fly. ;-(

What's your point pricky? I know that Britney and Paris are big Dem role models but you hardly have a valid point. Clearly, the Dems are hypocrites. They love it when Britney's teenage sister has a kid out of wedlock but God forbid that a Republican's daughter should do the same. Dem compassion ends where party lines begin.

But Dcky, like most clueless cons, what you fail to grasp is that the point Dems are trying to make in a situation like this is not that we're perfect or better than cons (though in many respects we're quite a bit better ;-) ) but rather that we're all imperfect and cons don't have a monopoly on morality.
Reply
You think liberals are being hypocrites by ragging on Palin but what you don't seem to realize is that most of us don't even care if her daughter is a teenaged trollop with no morals and parents who totally suck. We really don't care, Dcky.
What frosts my weiner is cons bragging over and over again that they are the morality party, the party of God, etc. You're better than everyone else because you don't kill babies (to your way of thinking, anyway), and you don't want sex education in our schools because you're perfect parents who know how to control your kids and keep them in chastity belts or electronic monitoring bracelets or whatever. You feel you're more pious than everyone else because you won't be satisfied until "in God we trust" is embossed on all rolls of Charmin® and on every individual Kleenex® (bless you). If liberals cared, they wouldn't be all goody two shoes at Christmas time and put all you God warriors through the torment of saying "Happy Holidays" a few times during the month of December.
All of this pushes those of us on the left to say Merry Christmas, dammit! You cons are out of control and you don't even realize how far you've gone. Crystal or Bristle or whatever her name is, is totally cool with me. What makes me sick to my stomach is the way cons have all swarmed around Palin as if she IS the con movement when you and McCain know nothing about her. Basically McCain is trying to garner votes based on Palin's so called moral character when both he and Palin live in glass houses (seven, in McCain's case but let's not go there). ;-(
McCain is a skank and so is his haughty, hideous harlot of a drug addict wife Cindy who enthusiastically helped him commit adultery and abandon his wife. Palin seems very protective of her family, which is admirable but it sounds as if she takes it just a bit too far. I don't trust these people, Dcky and I don't get why cons are so eager to claim they know all they need to know about her when most of you didn't even know she existed until a few days ago. ;-(
