Infuriated About Tough CNN Interview, McCain Cancels Larry King Appearance »
Posted By Neophile 1 year, 2 months ago in NewsYesterday, Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds appeared on CNN for an interview with Campbell Brown. Brown was tough on Bounds, refusing to let him spout typical campaign talking points. She repeatedly pressed him on Palin’s foreign policy experience and qualifications, asking him to name one decision that she made as commander-in-chief of the Alaskan National Guard. Bounds was unable to do so.

Tucker Bounds was a cool, calm gentleman the whole time
Campbell Brown wasn't tough on Bounds, She didn't listen and kept asking the same question over and over. -

What babies the Republican campaign are...Cambell Brown was no where near over the line...
Reply
This Tucker Bounds just couldn't take one question...all he had to say was he didn't know the answer, and would look into it...simple enough.
But all he answered with was Republican "on the road" rhetoric...lol...
And I'm copying this line from someone who gave her opinion on the CNN blog......thought it was great...
"Don’t pick on him!! He was POW, dammit!!" -

Actually Campbell Brown should have asked who are the shady right-wing characters that forced Palin on McCain (a hint: the same characters that helped kill 300,000 christians in Central america). Then she could have asked whether McCain has enough independence from these groups to actually represent all Americans.

Secretive Right-Wing Group Forced McCain to take Palin
The Council for National Policy , an ultra-secretive cabal that networks wealthy right-wing donors together with top conservative operatives to plan long-term movement strategy forced McCain to choose Palin as the VP candidate.

Let's just face it, nobody in this campaign has command experience except McCain.
Reply
BO hasn't lead anything.
JB hasn't lead anything.
SP hasn't lead anything.
So why are we hammering on this subject? Is that all the Dems and Reps can think of, but she does have executive experience unlike the both the Dems.
CNN and MSNBC are known Liberal station, so all they have to answer is Palin has no command experience just like the Democrats.

Boy, touchy. These guys on the right are always carrying on about personal responsibility, so long as they never have to be held accountable. It's his right to throw a hissy fit, but is it really what we want in a president, someone afraid to face the press? Is he afraid CNN is going to be tougher than the North Vietnamese? I thought this was a man of courage.

This is a snot-nosed pampered brat who has only been held responsible once in his life, and that was over 35 years ago. Since then, he has only become more pampered , arrogant, elitist, and unfortunately out-of-touch. He`s going downhill quickly.

Over the top? I would say its about time we see an interviewer actually pressing for an answer to the questions they ask. So many times they let these people get away with double-speak. Its good to see the opposite to be true. Its no surprise, however, that McCain shrinks away from any possible such exchange. His temperament isn't one that will easily accept being backed into a corner, and his VP pick pretty much guaranteed it happening. How many of McCain's supporters will see this for what it really is though? Not as an attack on anything, but instead just a serious inquiry as to Palin's experience. If asking such a question is going to be considered "over the line" then what on earth do they expect the debate questions to be about? Alaskan tourism?

Campbell Brown is not just another pretty face. Her hardhitting interview questioning Tucker (no) Bounds of the McCain campaign on CNN Sunday eve.brooked no BS talking automaton points from Mr. (out of) Bounds.

Because of that McCain loses the independents who tune into Larry's CNN show- by quitting the talkshow appearance so what-good for her! McCain loses twice!! -

They need to be afraid of Tom Brokaw. He won't be a superficial nincompoop at the debates. This is VERY telling. After YEARS of the media allowing them to spew their crap without calling them on it, I'll bet this was quite a surprise. I'm going to have to start watching CNN again if this means they're grown ups now, & ready to act like REAL journalists.

McCain's softball relationship with the media may be starting to crumble. His "I was a POW" litany just won't fly any longer. And the so called journalists who travels with him and delights in accessibility may be denied if they don't continue playing ball his way. Isn't it a shame when real journalists insist on answering their questions instead of letting the interviewee ramble on about something else?

You said a mouthful there tchef.....not to mention the Cons trashing Chelsey for years just for the hell of it. I say if the lady wants to play politics, she should be man enough to take the abuse that follows. The republicans definitely DO NOT deserve a pass when it comes to their Klondike Barbie.

The problem is that they use TV to forward their rehearsed spin. When asked a question by a reporter, like Campbell Brown, they simply pretend they didn't hear anything and were really asked how much they love their candidate!
Reply
McCain DID answer the question that they had vetted her carefully and he was proud of that. So we can only conclude that they got exactly what they wanted. If the media thinks of her as a bikini babe with a rifle defending the White House pool, They must have KNOWN the media would do that. The people ASSUME that McCain has smart people running his campaign. But then we assumed Bush was smart too! LOL
No one answered Larry King's question about whether Palin was the most qualified republican to choose for VP either, and it is just entertaining to see someone rattle on about how wonderful their candidate is as if they are deaf and dumb and alone in the world!
If you;re going to play the media game, You get what you give. -

Yep, why should McCain cooperate with the Obama-enthralled CNN reporter? I watched the video, looks like Bounds was professional and the reporter highly emotional and unprofesstional. This is the actual interview -

Because it offers them a chance to offer answers to serious questions that anyone considering a vote for McCain/Palin should want to know the answers to.
If you're not concerned that McCain's chief staff member for fielding questions could not answer a simple question about Palin's experience without falling back on a dissembling, unrelated answer, then you probably shouldn't be voting in this election.

the McCain camp sure doesn't sound tough to me. and the questions being hurled by Campbell Brown weren't even curve balls.
already the McCain camp has shown that it makes poor decisions in crunch time (palin) and has a thin skin when a thick skin is necesary (this story).
and thats just in the last week. -

If McCain can't handle a candid television interview with someone else answering the questions, HOW in the world is he going to handle an honest debate.. He will blow like a bomb!

Republicans, watch out, your candidate may stroke out before this is done, McCain can't handle pressure. -

Folks, this reveals the phonies and leaderless bastards they are. Ask them unrehearsed, pertinent questions and they show themsekves for what they 're all about ----- nothing. If it does not fall into the category of self-perpetuation or New World Dis-Order agenda crap, they boo-hoo, fall apart, get all discumbobulated and drown their sorrows in a bottle of scotch (or drug of their choice), as they doggishly lick their bleeding wounds while they convulse in juvenile tantrums, crying about the alleged unfairness of the interviewer. Meanwhile, it's fair for them to deceive us into wars and tyranny. while they trample the constitution and bill of rights. Maybe he'll get so depressed and turned off he won't grant anymore interviews. Good! Then we won't have to be subjected to his lies.
