Brown was tough on Bounds, refusing to let him spout typical campaign talking points. She repeatedly pressed him on Palin’s foreign policy experience and qualifications, asking him to name one decision that she made as commander-in-chief of the Alaskan National Guard. Bounds was unable to do so.

It was a basic and fair question. What has the vice-presidential candidate done that qualifies her for the job.
No muck-raking, no innuendo.
You can replay a tape of Obama's pastor 24/7 and say it is relevant but then you are not even permitted to ask the republicans to name ONE decision the vice-presidential candidate has made regarding foreign policy.
If McCain thinks this is over the line I guess he won't even have press conferences if he wins. Just carefully staged and vetted town hall meetings.

The O'Reilly Factor at Fox has been trying to get Obama on his show for about 2 years now. Obama refuses to go on his show. The reason why is that Obama knows O'Reilly will ask him lots of questions that Obama can't or will refuse to answer, in fear that answering will make him look bad. It cracks me up the way all other TV news media simply gives Obama a pass on the tough questions. They would never consider asking Obama a question that he can't or won't answer. They treat him with KID GLOVES. The Poor little chicken SH*T that he is!

The O'Reilly Factor is BY FAR the most watched commentator/news show on cable TV. His show out does all the other network shows combined, and that's a FACT. The POS attacked a kid whose parents were killed on 911's patriotism when he said we shouldn't be going to Iraq. He said his parents would be ashamed of him. When the kid refused to get angry and started countering with facts and statistics, in typical Bill O'Reilly fashion, he just started screaming and yelling until finally Bill just asked his producer to cut the kid's mic.
As soon as ole Bill-O starts to feel like he's losing an argument, he gets louder and louder, and then cuts off the mic of his adversary.
What a great, well respected journalist. I'm sure he'd come up with plenty of really good, thoughtful questions to ask.

I was watching the interview on CNN as it was being conducted.Campbell is a respected journalist and I was waiting,and waiting, and waiting for the answer to her question.All she asked was "NAME ONE DECISION PALIN HAS MADE AS COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF FOR THE ALASKAN NATIONAL GUARD?" It was a perfectly legitamate question and I'm sure an answer will not be given(BECAUSE SHE HAS MADE NO DECISIONS OF THE SORT).

Over the top? I would say its about time we see an interviewer actually pressing for an answer to the questions they ask. So many times they let these people get away with double-speak. Its good to see the opposite to be true. Its no surprise, however, that McCain shrinks away from any possible such exchange. His temperament isn't one that will easily accept being backed into a corner, and his VP pick pretty much guaranteed it happening. How many of McCain's supporters will see this for what it really is though? Not as an attack on anything, but instead just a serious inquiry as to Palin's experience. If asking such a question is going to be considered "over the line" then what on earth do they expect the debate questions to be about? Alaskan tourism?

McCain DID answer the question that they had vetted her carefully and he was proud of that. So we can only conclude that they got exactly what they wanted. If the media thinks of her as a bikini babe with a rifle defending the White House pool, They must have KNOWN the media would do that. The people ASSUME that McCain has smart people running his campaign. But then we assumed Bush was smart too! LOL
No one answered Larry King's question about whether Palin was the most qualified republican to choose for VP either, and it is just entertaining to see someone rattle on about how wonderful their candidate is as if they are deaf and dumb and alone in the world!

Because it offers them a chance to offer answers to serious questions that anyone considering a vote for McCain/Palin should want to know the answers to.
If you're not concerned that McCain's chief staff member for fielding questions could not answer a simple question about Palin's experience without falling back on a dissembling, unrelated answer, then you probably shouldn't be voting in this election. -
