Repubs are all for forcing poor and unprepared girls and women to have babies but then deny them the resources to raise them and live productive lives and then complain about the costs of welfare and crime.

Palin is in the position to help her daughter with her pregnancy and the birth of her grandchild but many families are not in that position. And the only answer repubs provide is abstinence and the refusal of contraception, so in their minds only the well off should have sex and babies regardless of the circumstances. -

I think this kinda pulls the rug out of the argument that sex education should be done by the parents and not in schools. When the VP pick, who votes against sex ed programs in schools, ends up with a pregnant teen daughter,

EITHER:
a) she's unqualified to parent her teenage daughter OR
b) good parenting is insufficient to prevent teen pregnancy -

Let's see, in 2006 government funding for this program was about 1.1 million dollars, and now it's 3.9 million dollars. So under Palin's tenure as governor, funding for the program has increased about 300%. I realize liberals have trouble with basic math, but the idea that funding for this program has been "slashed" is completely idiotic. But, what the hell. Why let the facts get in the way of a good smear job.

The budget was cut from 5 million down to 3.9 million. This is not a "slash" in anyone's book.

BUT THE BEST PART OF IT ALL:
Just 5 easy clicks away from this story on WaPo shows that in 2007 The Covenant House had over 1 million dollars of cash and investments on hand. Go to the link in the story for the organization and follow through to their financials on their website. 5 clicks away show that this organization had a cash surplus in 2007 of more than was "slashed" from their budget in 2008.
Do you smearmongers even investigate things before you try to throw all of these stories about Palin into the Propeller spin? I am laughing. Heartily and with gusto. -

Is this another DNC budget cut claim. The DNC operative request a 10 million dollar increase, it gets changes to a 5 million dollar increase, and the Dems claim it is a 5 million dollar cut. So that leads to ask, how much was budgetted in the previous budget?
