Why should people that are smart enough, or hard enough workers have to pay a higher percent of their income in taxes than those that aren't? You are punishing acheivement. I use to run a bar, and I would hear people bitch about how they could not afford health care, but at the same tine they were spending $100 a week or more in the bar and probably another $50 a week on cigarettes. The way to affordable health care is tort reform. If you get rid of the frivalous law suits (not going to happen with a democrat, trial lawyers are their biggest supporters), insurance would be a lot more affordable for everyone.

If you want to create more jobs, you lower corporate taxes not raise them. Companys move their business overseas because of our high corporate taxes. So we lose all of the corporate taxes, and all so the personal income tax from the people they use to employ. Also the stock market is a major influence in the economy and corporate profits control the market, so over taxing hurts the economy.

It should not be the governments job to provide anything more than 1) national security 2) federal law enforcement 3) provide montetary system 4) regulate interstate commerce 5) highway system. All the other BS is what costs us so much money.

I am in finance now, and I see people that are making 6 figures that came here with nothing and worked their way up. This is still the land of opportunity. Unfortunately a large portion of this country is stupid and lazy and wants to be taken care of.

The real solution to having the best president would be to get rid of the party system. If you let everyone run in a primary type system and you narrowed it down to the best 3 and let them run against each other for president, I think that would yield someone most of us could be happy with. The current system gave us Bush vrs Kerry; how sad is that.

Obama does not have the experience to be President; while McCain may not be the man we really need at this point, he is a far better option. McCain is a moderate that is liked and respected by many of the democrats in the Senate and Congress. He has the best chance of getting government to work together. Clinton and Bush both have polarized this country; Obama would do the same.

Palin is a non issue, she is no more inexperienced than Obama. I think she would be a decent VP; let's just hope McCain does not die in office.
