I thought it curious that McCain's wife would choose to wear a diamond pin reading (in diamonds) "Navy/USMC." It seems disingenous when you're claiming to be the party of average people when each diamond in a stickpin you're wearing is worth more than the pay of a soldier you're supposed to be honoring with such a pin.

I don't see why there is such a fuss. If earning lesser than $5 millions is a middle class, then $300,000 dress is really a piece of cake. Perhaps the change is really coming, with high triple digit inflation coming that money will not be what it once was.

McCain's $5mil answer came during the same interview event, the Saddelback Civil Forum, during which Obama stated that you become rich when you "sell 25 million books" - also in jest, reflecting host/moderator Pastor Rick Warren's own recent book sales.

We all have/had the opportunity to set and achieve our own goals, same as did McCain and Obama. I can fault only myself for not being where they are. What path did you take to reach your pinnacle? Why bemoan anyone else for their achievements?
I'd be willing to wager something else, that neither candidate got where they are by following his heart. They go there by study, investigating, evaluating, rationalizing, etc. along the way. They vote that way, too. (actually, Obama votes "present" noncommittal) more often than he votes "Yea" or "Nay" in senate).
Will you vote with knowledge of issues and candidates or because words and smiles make you feel good, that is, your heart?

That $5mil number that's being bandied about came from an answer McCain gave to a question asked by Pastor Rick Warren during the Saddleback Civil Forum. That's the same event during which Warren asked Obama what it takes to be rich, to which Obama answered, you are rich when you "sell 25 million books" - that, to reflect Warren's own recent book sales.

Her brooch is not diamonds, it is made from rhinestones. It is much like the 'sweetheart jewelry' worn during WWII by proud mothers, wives and girlfriends. I actually have a WWII piece of jewelry that is very similar to what she is wearing and it is, most definetely, not made out of diamonds!!

Her choice of a Stick pin has nothing whatever to do with her support for the Military. How do you know what she donates in support of the military, soilders and their families. If she can affort the diamond stick pin, then why not! At least her diamond inscription has something good to say.

I think you need to focus on the issues not clothing or rhinestone jewelry. My wife has a similar pin .....says "new attitude" and its rhinestones! We make combined just under $58k. Seems like when the freight train is running at full speed ahead, you cant hear the dogs bark! Get used to it now....the Dems, liberal media and leftys are scared to death that they JUST MIGHT LOSE. I cannot imagine a hard left liberal President with a Democratically controlled Congress. It gives him a blank check.

Talk about the 6 years of Bush and Republican Congress. Those six years had low unemployment, low gas prices, and an excellent economy. Then the Democrats got into Congress and everything has gone into the toilet. The poor have been voting for the Democrats for decades because they are promised the moon, and guess what.......they are still poor!!!!!!!

I'm sure she donates plenty of money to charity. And if it is more than the Obama's then that is how it should be. Each charitable donation is a TAX EXEMPTION and she needs as many exemptions as she can get. More than the Obama's since her wealth is considerably more than their's.

Have you ever thought of READING the NEWS on Cindy McCain? She is a philanthropist (look up the definition...) and a great human being. She has been very successful in continuing the business of her family...although successful, she has also been very generous with that success in her "giving" to others as well.

Yea, she was a REALLy great women when she slept with John while he was married to his first wife and THEN he turned his back on her just because she was disfigured and he couldn't stand looking at her.Then she marries him just ONE month after the divorce.And she's REALLY a great woman denying that she has 2 older sisters who for unknown reasons didn't hardly get **** from their father and Cindy got almost everything, and NOW she LIES and keeps saying that she is her father's only child...Yea, she's a just SUCH a great person.

But you will buy Obama's criminal friends that help him get a house, an evil pastor's influence for the past 20 years , and his serious lack of experience (because the absolute truth is that whatever lack of experience Palin is accused of having , Obama's record undoubtedly shows much less). Cindy Mc Cain has even earned more of a right to be President and to wear the pin she's accused of wearing. An knowing her, I bet she's given back a hell of a lot more money and sweat in her military and humanitarian efforts than Obama could possibly aspire.

In my opinion Cindy McCain can wear diamonds on her head if she wants. She and her family earned their wealth and should spend it any way they see fit. Her money has nothing to with our soilders pay or anyone else. Would you personally give your pay check to someone else and do without on a daily basis. I don't think so!!!!! Therefore what she wears or does not wear is irrelevant and has nothing to do with politics or this elections. As long as the money is coming from her pocket who is to say how she should spend it.

Cindy McCain is sponsoring international programs for disfiguered children.
I'm sure she has done more for total strangers than all of us put together.
As far as soliders pay, how many of you voted for Bush that put these "once a month soldiers" in harms way.
