A browser with a difference in it' s architecture. The browser is no longer single threaded process. But it' s a multi-threaded browser. Each tab of this browser is actually a separate process with it' s own memory space. Rather Google chrome treats each web page as application. When you close a tab, you are virtually terminating the process and freeing up the memory space given to this application.
