Republican Reactions to Sarah Palin's Speech »

This crowd had been waiting desperately for Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and when she finally emerged on the third night of the Republican National Convention here in St. Paul, MN, the hall went nuts.
After almost two full days of non-stop scrutiny and questions about her family dynamic, Governor Palin greeted the convention with an unforced confidence, and, with her speech, seemed to re-invigorate the ticket and the party.

After so much attention and expectation it will now be the Governor's responsibility to see that the focus shifts to her running mate, Senator John McCain, and it will be his responsibility to take it.

Thanks for the video, Alexia. While I may not agree with much of what Gov. Palin said, I must admit she did a very good job in energizing and firing up the conservative base which as we all know is extremely important in voter turnout.

I mean, you haven't heard one word about how they're going to make the health care system work so that if a union's negotiating with a company, it's not all just a discussion about higher premiums, and you can actually start talking about higher wages and benefits. You haven't heard one word about how we're going to create more apprenticeship programs like the ones that we have here or give other people a chance to train in new trades. You haven't heard a word about getting serious about green and alternative energy, the kind of work that is resulting in all the expansion and additional hiring here. You haven't heard a word about how we're going to strengthen unions so that working people get a decent stake. You haven't heard a word about how we're going to improve math and science education so that we can hire more engineers to create more products in green technology. You haven't heard a word about how we're going to deal with any aspect of the economy that is affecting you and your pocketbook day-to-day. Haven't heard a word about it. I'm not exaggerating. Literally, two nights, they have not said a word about it. They've had a lot to say about me, but they haven't had anything to say about you. And the thing that I'm insisting on in this election is that we can't keep playing the same political games we always play."-

Good point. I'm glad they didn't waste time bloviating about fixing the best healthcare system on the planet. Or how many beleaguered companies have to shut down plants because union members want free healthcare until death do they part. Government is not and should not be in charge of apprenticeship programs, but I can certainly see how this would be underfunded considering how much the unions send to the Democratic Party each year. Nor need we address how the market is going to make green energy profitable and affordable. The market will take care of that in due time. And we didn't even attack the highly politicized education union for destroying our children instead of educating them, or Obama's failed community program to turn children into indoctrinated partisans. We didn't discuss people's personal pocketbooks. That's their business. Gee...for someone who doesn't want to play the same old games, you're hitting on all the same cylinders I've heard from liberals since the 70s.
