It's time to admit that "managed care" is just another form of welfare--it employs lots of paper-pushers so they are not on the unemployment rolls. Forcing people in their time of need to pay for transportation to distant "cheaper" care, or fight to get necessary tests and treatment also is expensive to consumers both financially and psychically.

We could put managed care workers to better use in our national parks or other areas where the U.S. needs more people. We could probably save enough by getting rid of them to keep costs down. -

Meanwhile, private hospitals are using monopolistic business practices to rake in record profits. For example, Carilion Health System in Virginia had profits of more than $100 million last year.

They did so by assimilating nearly all of the small local practices then raising the prices charged for procedures by several fold. -

Wait till McCain gets elected. He will eliminate all tax breaks for employer assisted health care leading to all employers dropping the benefit all together. You will be left to "shop" for health care for you and your family just like auto insurance EXCEPT one special point. If you or anyone in your family has a pre-existing condition, good luck to you to find a coverage at a cost you can afford to pay!

I sure would like to know where the money is going. My Union pays a 50-50 share of our health & welfare with our employers. When it's contract time sometimes all of our money goes to H We recently switched to Blue Shield and it seems to be working out well.
