McCain has nothing to really offer. He is hoping by tugging on the heartstrings of America, people will look past his major shortcomings and vote not for him, but his VP choice.

I agree. However, I'd also like to draw people's attention to this poster's submission with VIDEO and TRANSCRIPT of the speech:

So McCain has nothing to offer? Just what does Obama have to offer, besides the opportunity for all of us to pay higher taxes and his Marxist viewpoints?

Neither party has a worthwhile candidate at all. I don't know about anyone else but I would vote for my wallet. This country has steadily been going down the toilet long before King George. Ever wonder why neither party is able to get anything right?
The government in this so-called free country is made up of a bunch of sock puppets who do the bidding of the powerful elite. They are not here for "we the people". "We the people" are nothing more than the meal tickets that support these greedy scumbags with our labor and provide offspring to be used as pawns/cannon fodder in their little power games. Some things will NOT "change". -

More BS from McCain, I know a lot of POWs that I would not vote for, well two my Uncle and McCain...unlike McCain my unck just want health coverage which he isn't getting. These guys are the worse set of Americans ever and should not be trusted with our government again. They will make nice until they get into the white house and like bush all hell will be be put upon the American people again. I cant believe that they are people this foolish in our country, that would fall for this same trick for the 13th time in the last 60 years. May god help us and bless this nation!

After what they did McCain should not be this close to Obama, he should not even be mentioned in the same conversation as the presidency!

You know...I watched this convention deal with McCain, and I just have to tell you...If it were up to me and I could get to this guy and tell him, I realize you have to by Law...go through the motions, but to tell you the truth...I believe the election has already been decided. It's over...! We just have to wait till the rule takes over and the new president walks in...simple as that....

Actually, I'd tell them to cut back on their spending, and give the money they save to the children in THIS COUNTRY..that are starving and need help...!

Well, I agree with 95% of what you say.
You do realize that Condi Rice is meeting in Libya with the "mad dog" Momo Ghadffi. He is a terrorists terrorist. He has the US coming to meet with him, because he has oil.
Follow the money and greed you'll see that the neocons and the left wing nuts are all chasing the same poison. Just in different ways.
McCain could care less about our vets. He just wants the power to give to his corporate and private handlers. -

There are some serious problems in the Republican party when they throw up the man who they said was too unstable to be Pres 8 years ago and cast him as a solid choice now while saying Obama lacks experience and toss in someone who couldnt govern a small town of 5000+ as a "solid" choice for VP. INcluding her view on sex education with her daughter standing there as proof they dont work.

McCain is the only guy they got with a reputation of not being a neocon lapdog.
Reply
They know he's the only repub with a prayer of getting near the Whitehouse.
They are relying on his former media hype from the 90s to be what voters remember about him.
The irony is the reputation is terribly out of date, he has been a bush lapdog ever since being defeated and slimed by the Bush-Cheney campaign in 2000.
The whole thing has 0 integrity, McCain is trying to appease the rabid right fanatics while also pretending he is about change and moderation to sucker the moderates who respected him years ago. He Can Not Be Both. How dumb do these people assume voters are?

McCain has his personal story. That is all he has!!!! He doesn't understand the economy, he can' lead this nation out of the muck filled ditch Bush put us in.

He can't do much except say, "I am a hero because I was a POW." I honor his fortitude and and give him well deserved honor for his surviving that hell, along with ALL the others who did as well!!!!
No to McCain and no to the beginnings of a terrorist reign that has been allowed under the Bush regime.-

There's a guy who sleeps in a refrigerator box down by the local VFW whose story is every bit as compelling and patriotic. He didn't marry an heiress though. He'll not be sleeping in the white house, or even one of McCain's mansions when he's not using it. And if he showed his face at the GOP convention it would have been bloodied by jackbooted thugs. Yet by McCain's demeaning of POWs by using it as a cheap ploy to get sympathetic votes, he spits on the Vietnam Vets. Of course his voting record on Veterans issues is pathetic as well. McCain admits he was shot down because he being a hot dog and stupid. Vote for me I make sh***y decisions !

And what might I ask does Obama have? He doesn't have extensive legislative experience, he doesn't have any executive experience, he has never FOUGHT for our country...what is left...If you can list any of his accomplishments I would really like to know. All I know is he has written two books (about himself no less), and voted present during most of his legislative tenure....
Reply
What bills has he sponsored, what legislation has he worked tirelessly on....
I at least give credit to McCain that he was willing to step forward and FIGHT for our country. Obama could have done that, he could have gone into the military, instead he opted to go to Chicago, to get his foothold into th political machinery there.
To cheapen McCain's experience, simply because others went thru the same thing, is horrible of you. I hope that no disaster ever comes you way, because with the attitude you have, no one should care, because, well, others have had it happen to them.
I say no to Obama who has done nothing for this country, unless it was good for him!

John McCain says he knows how terrible war is, so he is better prepared for Commander -in-Chief. Well lets see about that. He was a pilot on an aircraft carrier stationed 25 mile off the coast of Vietnam. He would fly over the country and drop bombs from a height of 2 miles on the little ants he saw below and then fly back to the carrier's deck. Well those little ants below were actually human beings. Children in school yards, people crossing bridges going to and from work to support their families, children going to and from school. You can not smell death from 2 miles in the air Mr. McCain. Back on the carrier life is very good. Hot food 24 hours a day, hot water for showers, clean clothes each day, 24 hour movies, TV, and other forms of entertainment and recreation. Compare that to the life of the soldiers on the ground in Vietnam. The only difference between life on an aircraft carrier and life in a New York apartment is life is more dangerous in New York. And then one day McCain cold starts his jet engine, creates a fire and drops his bombs which explode on the deck of the Forrestal and kills 125 American servicemen. Only problem was McCain was taken off the ship so fast he never got a chance to smell death even then.

And were you in the military during a time of war? Have you given anything to this country? Your time, your heart, your life? I somehow don't think so. Don't demean what he did, you were probably one of those people who spit on soldiers coming back from war. You sicken me.
Reply
War is hell, and no one has ever tried to state otherwise. We all know that people die, that civilians are the true losers, but you know what, I would feel safer knowing that my commander in chief has some military training, that he has seen the hardships of war, and the ultimate sacrifices that are made. Can Obama say the same thing? I guess it is hard to know how hard war is when you are sitting in a Harvard classroom, instead of fighting for your country.

The truth is that this country is on a disasterous course. The last eight years has not made anyone SAFER. Bush never found Bin Laden. He started an illegal war and is killing innocent people to include our troops. As an insult he pays a tribute to our troops as the platform for McCain's would be disasterous continuation of the same policies. The Republican party purports religious values to SUCKER people like you into the fold, but their actions are not that of Christian. That's straight talk. -

You democrat dummies are making me sick! You keep talking about how McCain uses his POW nightmare to try to win over votes??? Well, what about your Osama Obama? His father left when he was just a wee one and he was raised by a single mother and his grandmother, blah, blah, blah. How many people have been raised by a single mother? How many people have been a tortured POW for YEARS? Go ahead and keep bashing McCain, but, when you lay your head down on your pillow tonight and not have to worry if you will be bombed or have to listen to bombs, etc, thank people like McCain and President Bush for keeping them over there and not here in the States! All of us are complaining about gas prices...well WE have to drill, drill, drill to try to at least make a temporary solution to the problem... Democrats are idiots! That's my story and I'm sticking to it...........................

You seem to be way right of reality. But no matter, it is posts from "genius's like you that make Obama seem so much more appealing than McLost.
When I lay my head on my pillow at night, I keep saying to God, I'm sorry God, sorry my country has become this nation of war for oil.
Sorry the people of this nation have become so enamored with greed and material things they no longer see the path of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Sorry they think it is right to murder another nations people for the wealth you put in their land.
Sorry we have a leader like GW Bush who stole the election so he could destroy the nation, and make it the nation of greed and plunder for the wealthy.
I pray we are forgiven and delivered from this evil that is the Bush administration, that God will forgive us and Bush.
That we will once again become a nation of preferring right to wrong and good over evil.
That we will stop listening to the false teachers and read the Bible and see what it really says, and follow it not man.
So sb1, stick to your story. I'll stick to my prayers and God.
The true idiots are those who believe man has the answer.

Is it fair to say, McCain's BAD Temper and unfortunate experience as a POW may have left him with some serious Mental disorders?? His wife Cindy Budwizer is also a confessed Drug User...
Of all the Experienced Qualified individuals in America, in continued Poor Judgment John McCain selects an Individual with No Qualifications, who wants to deny a Woman the right to choose an abortion even when Incest and/or Rape is involved. Palin if elected would try to reverse Row Vs Wade. Are you kidding me????
John McCain is just Playing Politics again, he could not be serious with his, wife cindy's and Palin's Baggage....
What a Shame the Republican Party could not offer decent respectable candidates for president and Vice President.
BJ bill and Hillary clinton two Immoral deceptive liar's would be a better choice...-

Do you really want to get into a debate over "records"? At least McCain has one.
Reply
Do you really want to get into a debate over "associations"? McCain was found innocent of the Keating 5 issue (which by the way was 20 years ago). Obama has had associations with "slumlords", "terrorists", and "racists"...so really you wanna go there?
Do you really want to say that McCain was tortured because he has a temper...seriously, care to say that at a VFW convention? I didn't think so.
Do you really want to get into a debate about drug use? Cindy McCain is NOT running for office, her husband is, HOWEVER, Obama is running for office and has ADMITTED to using drugs as well. Cindy abused prescription drugs, OBAMA abused ILLEGAL DRUGS...Do we want to dredge up all the skeletons in Mrs. Obama's closet? If you are going to pick on one, then by GOSH pick on the other.
Do you really think that the only issue that women care about is abortion...seriously, there are other issues that women care about as well, such as GENDER BIAS...guess you don't care about that though!
Do you really think that a GOVERNOR has no qualifications? If so, then don't you think a JUNIOR senator would have even less?

Ok, let's analyze the "experience" of the candidates we have to choose from.
Reply
Months ago, Obama said he wants to pull our troops out of Iraq, a phased withdrawal, and let the Iraqis govern their own country. Bush/McCain ridiculed Obama's ideas for weeks. McCain even said he wants to keep our troops there for the next 100 yrs, if neccessary.
A few months later, Bush/McCain announced Iraq's government wants our troops to leave Iraq, and McCain flip flopped and announced he will work to bring our troops home. Which is what Obama had said months before McCain said it.
Months ago, Obama said he would hold diplomatic talks with Iran's Ahmedinejad, Bush & McCain ridiculed Obama. A few months later, McCain & Rice both, at separate occassions, said they would hold diplomatic talks with Iraq, with "pre conditions", whatever that means. I guess Palin is going to discuss home schooling and women's rights with Ahmedinejad, before holding "diplomatic talks?"
Obama said he would go after Bin Laden. McCain/Palin didn't mention BL.
Obama said he would stop the outsourcing of all of our jobs to foreign countries, McCain/Palin didn't say anything about the lack of jobs here.
I cound continue...but in any case I'll take Obama's judgment over McCain's "experience." I would also take Biden's experience over Palin's experience. -
