Public Allies is an organization that appears to encourage youth to take on a responsible role in their communities, as they put it they are "a premiere pipeline for developing diverse nonprofit [organization] and community leaders."
Public Allies seems to be an organization dedicated to getting youth involved in community on a community activist and political level, the organization goes on to say "over 80% of alumni have continued careers in nonprofit and public service and they volunteer and engage in political activities at more than twice the rate of their age cohort"
Public Allies espouses the rhetoric of those who work with the poor, that is, to bring the poor out of poverty and into the middle class. As such, Public Allies proclaims their goal to "unite people across social boundaries to work for the common good, create effective and responsive solutions to social problems and ultimately build a more just society for all."

If you had it in you to say that uniting people across social boundaries of race and class and religion was a communist notion;
If you had it in you to say working for the common good to help each other rise up out of the ghetto and poverty was a communist notion;
If you had it in you to say that creating effective responses to social problems like drugs, and gang violence and alcohol and broken families and all the other problems that arise in ghettos across the nation was sheer communism;
If you had it in you to say that working for a just society where people excel because of their intelligence and their own effort, and not the neighborhood they were born in was a communist line of reasoning;
If you had it in you to say that, then you might indeed find yourself in agreement with Mr. Beck and his twisting of the message and deeds of a group designed for the betterment of poverty stricken communities.

Anyway, here's the site URL, check it out and see what you make of them. Not that the person who wrote the article or the person who posted it would give you the link and bother making it easy for you to check Public Allies out for yourself.

      Aside from the fact that that is NOT the idea behind social support services, isn't that the rationale for the GOP's wasteful, warmongering, international interventionism? That somehow you have the ability to fix the entire population's problems? At gunpoint, no less?

      Well, if you looked at their page and saw Hitler, Stalin and Mao all rolled into one I think we're going to have to agree to disagree, earsopen.
      They seem to me to be a kind of community involvement group. Many such groups exist across America without being the stuff of Hitler, Stalin and Mao. Quite often churches in this nation make just such calls to their youth for community and political involvement without being Nazis or totalitarian communists. Asking for people within a community to help the community, the call to serve, is not an endeavor marked by the specter of Adolf Hitler, or Joseph Stalin, or even Mao Tse Tung.
      
      Public Allies is not claiming that any one candidate can fix the world's problems. Public Allies claims that members of a community can fix that community's problems, or at least help keep things from getting worse. This group quite clearly states in bold face on their page "FAQ's about Senator Barack and Michelle Obama" that "Public Allies is a non-partisan organization and does not endorse candidates for elected office."

      I couldn't find anything on their site to indicate they're funded by the government, that line appears to come from an unsigned Investor's Business Daily editorial that also claims the Obamas want to forcibly place all our children into radical re-education camps. I have to take issue with claims like that. Even if the Obamas wanted to do this, they would not be able to, for they, if elected, will only be President and first lady, not, Adolph Hitler, Stalin and Mao combined, and thus not capable of wielding the dictatorial powers necessary to herd all our children into re-education camps against our will. There is, however, a page on the Public Allies web site, called "Give Now", indicating that their funding comes from private donations.
