You can return to your seats, folks, there's nothing too see here.

Except racist, ignorant blather coming from the crackpot wing of the Republican Party. (although these days it's a little difficult to determine where Republicans end and crackpots begin) These people have nothing of substance to run on so they lift up a rock and Glenn Beck and Michelle Malkin crawl out and regurgitate this completely unfounded nonsense. What's really disturbing, though, is that they have a constituency that's dumb enough to believe it.

Here's a partial mission statement from those dreaded Public Allies. Just makes your skin crawl doesn't it, blinkin?

"We’re creating pathways for a stronger community and a lifetime of impact. More than half of Alumni continue a career in the nonprofit and public sectors, and about 90% of Alumni say they would participate again if they could. Partner organizations report that their work with an Ally increases their capacity by up to 30%! Results like these have led the Public Allies program to be recognized as a model for national service.

Everyone leads… and we walk the talk. Our Allies are ages 18 to 30, and over 84% are people of color, 8% are LGBT, and 54% are college graduates. Allies are of and for our local community, and they share a deep commitment to strengthening Chicago".
