Unless Vice-President Cheney can start World War III very soon, in which case neither Obama or McCain would ever be President. The situation right now, is that the election could be called off, while the nation operates under an unelected "emergency government," for the duration of the presently onrushing global, economic breakdown-crisis.

Unfortunately we battle public apathy which our leaders cultivate with indebtedness and fear. Numbing us with propaganda spewed by a totally controlled media which either cleanses or don't tell us anything. e.g Iraq. I mean when we fought in Vietnam we saw all the bombing and combat. They never show the demonstrations and secret prisons which are being erected in remote areas like the Dakotas

      Nice post ecotourusa

your writing style is eloquent. truly well thought out.
I just heard today that congressman Ron Paul will support Mark Baldwin of the Constitution Party.
this is his web site: http://baldwin08.com/
        I think it is excellent.
I will follow this closely. he is giving a press conference on Monday.
stay tuned...and have a wonderful weekend.

we're getting ready for a string of pearl storms/hurricanes here in south florida.

I'm funny about this hurricane stuff, too. (fema, etc)
I'd rather people take personal responsibility in response to the onset of storms...I would prefer not relying on govt.

When I first saw Obama, I was surprised that such an intelligent, well-thought man, who wasn't afraid to speak uncomfortable truths, was actually doing well in the primaries.

As time went on, he was attacked over and over for these voicing these truths and not toeing the line on foreign policy (aggression). His speeches have become less appealing to me as they attempt to appeal to more voters. He now stays farther away from unpopular truths.

Where he once seemed to want people to review their perceptions, he now wants people to forget what he once said, and to be convinced that he's not too scary and different.

The only trouble is. It's working. I don't believe his earlier persona as much any more, and the less I believe it, the more like John McCain he becomes, the more comfortable with wars he becomes, the less I like him. I don't know anymore if Obama is really intent on the change he once espoused, or if he's going to follow the status quo like McCain.

I guess it doesn't matter to me. At worst, Obama will be as bad as McCain and will represent business as usual. But I still have hope DESPITE Obama's recent speeches. I have hope that he has changed his tactics to win the election, but that he will return to the considerate thinker, unafraid to question wide-spread assumptions and challenge prejudice that I originally saw him to be. I have hope, because the intellect that presented itself then, may well have led him to believe that the only way to win the election is to speak the 'truths' people believes, and work to change those perceptions once he attains office. Unfortunately, without the demonstrated ability to think outside the box, he's not an exciting candidate: he's a politician like John McCain.

        Willottica-
interesting points. wow. you wrote a chapter in a book.
I might add that both obama and mccain are pro-amnesty, both are members of the cfr (council on foreign relations,) both are wrapped in special interests that include George Soros, Rupert Murdock, many corporations. They are both war mongerers, Obama wants more troops in Afganistan, Mccain says we're winning in Iraq, Obama supported the legislation on FISA.
I could go on & on...
Personally, I am an avid Ron Paul supporter. He will not be running for President. But, I am waiting for him to endorse a candidate. And, I will go with his recommendation...or, simply not vote.

I think Ron Paul's recommendation will be:
Mark Baldwin of the Constitution Party.

Incidentally, Ron Paul wants to increase the resources derived from hemp. for instance, ethanol.
corn costs more to produce...and it's needed for food.

americans are like sheep, they believe everything they hear, thus the negative attacks work because of stupidity and the unability to make sense of what it really happening. I could not believe that bush got re-elected, but not surprized with all the scare tactics and the flip flop barrage against his opponant.. will this country ever wake up? I doubt it. I know this, if mccain wins with the bimbo he picked to take over should something happen to him (he is 72) then I quit, and will live out my days without ever voting again. I don't know if obama is good or not but lets give him 4 years to see. can't be any worse than the last 8 years

those voting machines were found to have glitches, as well...

As the late gerry garcia once said: "If you have to vote for the lesser of the 2 evils...that means you are still voting for evil."

I vote my conscience. I cannot in good conscience vote for either of the 2 main candidates.
I am waiting to hear who Ron Paul recommends. I think it will be Mark Baldwin of the Constitution Party.
Ron Paul will have a news conference on Monday.
In the meantime you can learn more about Mark, here:
