If you look closely, The father of the 17 year old's pregnancy looks almost identical to Sarah's new child. I'm not saying he fathered a child on the 17 year old (or that Sarah slept with her daughter's boyfriend) -- but more that her daughter's soon-to-be husband looks a lot like S's downs-syndrome baby.

I don't care what Palin does with her own family. Michele Obama is right when she says "Sarah Palin's Children Are "Absolutely" Off Limits." First of, Michele Obama is being very kind and gracious, after Palin gave her speech where she spend the majority of her time criticizing Obama with lies. The ONLY reason people are critisizing the pregnancy of Palin's daughter, is because Republicans including Palin preach conservative values, no sex ed, abstinence et.

The values Palin wants to pass on to OTHER family's children are of consideration here. Her pro life atittude no matter what, ideas about home schooling, abstract science, monitoring what type of books should be available in libraries, are values that are not acceptable to me.
Science, technology, education, are what will take us into the future as a succesful nation. Palin would take us back into the stoneages.-

Abstinence based sex education does not work. I recommend sitting down with a book compiled by a professor at the University of Maine at Orono (UMO) with statistics from all over the world about teen pregnancies, etc. I'll get back to you on the professors name, and I believe the book title is "sex around the world" It was quite an eye opener for me. You'll find very quickly that the good old usa tops a lot of categories. Had to throw that out there with all the sex ed talk and in defense of a 17 year old who keeps getting brought up. Don't attack the victim, attack poor parenting and out- dated thinking.

DDT As a passionate American, concerned about our country, I was encouraged by the way the Republicans ran the nomination convention. Didn`t see as much of theirs as I saw of the Dems, but was pleasantly surprised. Enough to switch my vote, in a large measure to Mc`s sincere, even tho` not as polished and to the dynamic real person of integrity Palin showed herself to be. I love her!

Palin can't run the world, nor will she be able to run America. Palin can get together with the Taliban and run Afghanistan, though the Afghans may not appreciate me saying this. So there is a place for Palin, just not in any capacity where she would run anything. The Libraries don't want her either, cause she wants to monitor what books they can have. I suggest Palin and Cindy McCain travel and do some community service, as far away from here as possible!
Let Obama take care of bringing our troops home from Iraq, end this "it's not going anywhere, Iraq will never be a Democracy war", create jobs by stopping the outsourcing of jobs to foreign countries etc, introduce a better healthcare plan, etc.
Sorry, I forgot to address where McCain can go. Well, Bush, McCain and Cheney can move to Dubai and retire, where they will profit from the Halliburton office the Sheikhs in Dubai helped Cheney establish. -

I'm not going to address the conservatives. Other Dems PLEASE TAKE NOTICE. We need to focus our time in getting those in our communities registered. Make sure everyone you talk to about this election knows where they are supposed to vote and are properly registered in advance.

Don't waste time talking to overtly religious conservatives. Trust me! Nothing you will tell them will change their mind. You see... they are programmed from a young age not to question. The Evangelicals say they are Christian, but think of this... Jesus Christ and the God of the old testament provide extremely different messages. The Old Testament teaches an "eye for an eye" , tells of God raining down fire and brimstone, tells of God destroying his creations by world wide flood, shows a God that backs his "Chosen people" during battle. Does this sound like Jesus Christ? NO! Evangelicals are simply the new Jews (First fives books of old testament are also in the Tora). Nothing wrong with being Jewish, but stop saying how much you love Christ but refuse to pay attention to the New Testament. Stop hating Homosexuals, stop controlling women, stop seeing war as a way to ensure your future, stop the support of torture. It allows boggles my mind that Republicans are seen as "God's" party. Maybe the "God" of the Old Testament, but I bet Jesus would feel uncomfortable sitting next to Uncle **** (actually the reverse of that is probably true) -

There are lots of interested Obama supporters who aren't registered and don't know where to vote. PLEASE people, everytime you want to trash Palin, take a breath, refocus that energy on getting people registered. You don't have to be part of a any team to do this. Just bring it up in political conversation and maybe have a few phone numbers handy for people in your area to call or go online to get registered. We aren't going to win this race by talking about it to opponents that are entrenched in their beliefs. The numbers realy don't lie. There is going to be very little wiggle room in this election. Bush has succeeded in polarizing this country and nothing you are going to say is going to convince a Southern Evangelical to vote for a black man with a Muslim sounding name... trust me. Just focus your energy on people that are uninterested in the political process. There are tons of them out there. If you stop for one second I know you know a person like this. Call them NOW! Tell THEM why this is an imporant election. Work on those who are at least willing to listen. That would be making a differnce! That would be constuctive! Remember... thats what we are about ... being constructive and building up... not tearing down. We don't need to resort to Republican politics, we have the last 8 years on our side.

I understand why Palin's daughter should be off limits; however, as a mom, I asked myself long ago this question: do I hold myself responsible for my child's raising and the results I get for who she is as a young adult? MY ANSWER IN AN ABSOLUTE, Y E S !!!!!! I hear what you are saying--those of you who say this should be off limits. However, it does not stop me from questioning her ability to parent, or do for someone else what is necessary to get them to create a great life for themselves. Somewhere she dropped the ball with this girl, in my opinion. There is a disconnect, and it is abvious to me because I am a single parent of a girl who at sixteen and seventeen, I had to be on the watch every minute to keep her out of the way of bad choices. Unprotected sex is a bad choice. HERE'S MY TAKE. if you can get better results in your own household, why would I want you to have any say about mine. Palin needs to better love and care for her daughter, and stop the pretence! You have a family emergency!!!!!

You've got it right vp830. Palin has two family emergencies, a special needs baby and a pregnant 17 year old daughter. You don't need to be out campaigning while "the first dude" is home trying to keep things afloat. This is a time for intense two parent parenting. Sara exposed her family to this scrutiny by accepting the call and if she thought her family was not going to be put in the spotlight she is incredibly naive. She is also extremely power hungry and vindictive and she's not adverse to lying. Just not the kind of person I want in Washington.

Agreed. And not having the ability to see the error of your ways and excusing your errors as normal American life is the reason we have become a society of immoral, self serving and classless people. Palin isn't the best we have- and she doesn't represent our best mothers or best career women. Her inability to understand that high political offices require individuals who stand above the average American only proves her arrogance and self serving agenda. Americans who want a pres and vp just like themselves are reacting to their own emotional need to be understood. We need political leaders who are intelligent, experienced, and moral with high standards. Their values are evident in what their families look like. If we want excellent leaders then we need to raise the bar on what we expect.
