Sarah Palin ‘affair’: big media stays quiet as ‘lover’ named »

Posted By Aidenag 1 year, 2 months ago in News

While America's respectable media focus on John McCain's acceptance speech to the Republican faithful, blogs and gossip sites continue to lead the feeding frenzy surrounding the National Enquirer's allegation, reported here yesterday, that McCain's running mate Sarah Palin had an affair with her husband's business partner.

Much as a loath the republicans, and as much as I think McCain’s choice of Palin as his running mate is a transparent, shallow act by a desperate man, I don’t much care about Palin’s personal life, except as it relates to her ability to do the job.

Who cares who is having sex with who. Not important in the big scheme of things.

I agree that there is really no point in casting accusations, especially in view of the seeming frequency of occurrence in the political world. It would be better if everyone just accepted that they are mostly likely all having or had affairs, push that off the table and get down to business.

It demonstrates that the government has no real place in trying to legislate morality. That choice should be left to the citizen to work out.

Character is a very good way to judge how honest one may react in various situation.

Ex New Jersey Governor McGreevy resigned in Disgrace for a love affair with a HoMosexual, Idiot Spitzer Governor of New York resigned in Disgrace for having an affair, a least with a female, Gary hart was also destroyed for having an affair, etc....

Is it fair to say, one may want to think before making dogmatic, uneducated, Foolish statements, regarding the value of Character, Honesty, and fine attributes in candidates competing for a high office to Serve the people of the United states???

    How Shallow and incompetent...

This is one of the things that Palin was talking about when she accused the Obama/Biden Democrats of trashing her and her family with lies etc. There was a story on here yesterday where people there tried to make it that since it did not come from Obama or Biden she was wrong. Those silly libs couldn't read apparently.

This is a rumor story discussing another rumor story from the National Enquirer. Then it is posted here. Aidenag must love to share rumors instead of discussing the facts.

With the economy sinking, and both foreign and domestic policy floating with no direction, who cares if she had an affair or not? There are more important issues.

Why bother to make this stuff up or to step to the level of alpha and bring it up here?

The thing is that extra-marital affairs ARE important when the people who have them take a particular moral stance. And alhough slightly different (as he was in office at the time), an extra-martial dalliance was enough to impeach a President not that long ago. So to say a person's sex life dopesn't matter, is a little naive.

However, this story seems like made up muck raking. Gossip manifesting itself as journalism. If it weren't and there was testimony or evidence, the other papers would be running with it too.

The National Enquirer is not a hard hitting news source when the story is not about John Edwards?

I will say the same thing about this one that I said about the Edwards and the Clinton affair.

Who cares? Does an affair from years ago really effect her ability to govern?

          I gotta defend Palin here.

There are MANY other things to hold against her. Why dig up this tabloid trash?

It was so much more fun to discuss Clinton's bjob.
The economy was going strong, jobs were plenty, salaries were high, gas prices were very low, healthcare was very affordable, there were no home foreclosures.
We needed entertainment, and the Republicans provided it when they went after Clinton and had to watch on the sidelines when Clinton got re elected for a second term.

There is little question that the media is not reporting adequate critical data on Palin. However, "The Enquirer" is not a reliable source.

??? This is a question more than a comment. ???
Does anyone know why Obama crashed down all over Hillary when she was running, saying that because she voted for the war, that meant she had bad judgement. Now, he chooses a VP candidate , Joe Biden, to run with him, who also voted for the war but Obama has no problem with it .What is the explanation for that?

              One Palin Mystery Solved

Privacy, not intrigue, behind pol pal's bid to seal divorce records
an Enquirer source claimed, he "quickly dissolved his friendship and his business associations with the guy." So when the blogosphere discovered today (via an online court docket) that Scott Richter, a Palin associate, personally filed a sealing motion in Alaska Superior Court, well, conclusions were jumped to. Was Sarah Palin named as the other woman in a messy divorce action? Well, since Richter's September 3 motion, a copy of which you'll find below, was denied yesterday, his divorce filings remain open to the public. And a TSG review of the 98-page file shows that the Palins are only mentioned in Richter's sealing request.

(Did ya get that Obama? his divorce filings remain open to the public)

(Did ya get that Obama? the Palins are only mentioned)

According to the filing, Richter wanted the documents deemed confidential in a bid to cloak details about his home, workplace, and phone numbers because "reporters and news agencies" were using that information to contact him.

Richter, a 39-year-old contractor, noted that he is "friends and land owners in a remote cabin" with the Palins and,

(Did ya get that Obama? Translation for you Obama, the have a time share the Palins)

as a result, journalists were intruding on the "cabin life and private life" of him and his 11-year-old son. The petition to dissolve the marriage was filed jointly last July by Richter and his ex-wife, who were not represented by lawyers. A judge granted the dissolution less than two months after the couple filed to end their marriage.

As much as it saddens me, we will never know what all of the candidates have done prior to their bid for office. We can only hope that serving the people to a higher standard than they served their families will be the case. But considering the viscious level of mud slinging by the Repubs in the 2004 election, I say let all of it fly. I've been stuffed full of their damn high, but fake, moral authority my entire life. Too bad it was nothing but crap spread over all of us. They need to rethink their ability to live up to their own double standard. I'm not buying it any more and I certainly hope no one else is. It does matter if their character is of such low moral standard. McCain is an expert at crapping on his wives and his children. I use to respect him as a moderate. Now I have no respect for him at all. I certainly don't trust him or the choices he made for VP. I hope every underhanded dirty thing she has pulled hits the front page. Hello Swiftboat. Hope you like the ride.
