I don't care about it myself, but these people who are working to bring about a theocracy seldom can take the light from a flashlight shining on them. Haggard comes to mind and there is actually a connection. She apparently funneled public money to the church old Ted now preaches in. Now that is a story!
Palin is a smokebomb, proof positive that McCain is no maverick and no moderate. But with all the attention being paid to Palin, no one is calling McCain on his lies in the smear ads he is running. (Obama will raise your taxes!- not if your 95% of America, Obama has never submitted a balanced budget! - um, Senators don't submit any budget...McCain hasn't either.)

The McCain Campaign can be taken to task on facts.
There are plenty of examples of politicians being outed over sex.It is stupid, but hey ain't that America? That's how we do things around here. I don't like it, but if Bush and Cheney can get away with outing a CIA agent, cook the intelligence books to start a war, thumb their noses at subpoenas, etc. without being reprimanded- and all it takes is a hummer for Clinton to be impeached the Psyche of the country must come into question.
The wingnuts love Palin but they hate sex (At least publicly, what they do in their dungeons with those whips chains and various devices is another story). So maybe sex is an issue to quiet down the cheerleading from the dominionist crowd?
I assume these people are all having an orgy on my dime as soon as the cameras are off, that way I'm not disappointed. The ones who complain the most are always the kinkiest!-

Trick Hillary's supporters into voting for a guy who opposed equal pay for women for equal work. However aside from the people trotted out on "news" programs (who never voted for a Democrat before anyway so one arguably at least questions their sincerity, at worst they are Rovian plants) Hillary's supporters aren't dumb enough to vote against every single issue she fights for. McCain called the Iraq Veterans who wanted to make his voting record on Veterans bills known "static" to be ignored. The real static we should ignore is the idea that Republicans will bring a positive change to Washington. It's like the deregulation they sought for multinational corporations whose only interest in the U.S. was draining it's wealth, "Let the oil companies run the dept. of energy" "Let the mortgage industry regulate itself." How do you think that's working out?

No one is going after Palin because she is a woman. That's utter nonsense. McCain's argument that Obama may not have enough experience has been tauted for 6 months at least in his :ads", we have heard that argument made many times here on threads as well. It was McCain's most legitimate sounding argument, even though time and time again Obama was right on every issue and McCain was wrong.
He HAS experience being wrong, His choice of VP null and voids his only reason not to vote for Obama. Surely you see that.
Most Obama supporters think he has enough Washington experience to understand how it all works but not enough to be corrupt beyond redemption. He displays intelligence and reasoning well above the politicians in recent memory. These qualities will serve America quite well. As I said Palin is a smokebomb, and has served the purpose well,
to obscure and obfuscate the real issues in the nations dialog. The GOP is quite clever at "political maneuvering" and selling a product in a Machiavellian way. This has worked quite well for them. I think enough people see through the slogans and talking points not to fall for it any more.

When married people have an affair, it does matter, alot! It says volumes about a person. I could never trust anyone who had an affair on their spouse, for any reason what so ever. If you're willing to cheat on the one person who counts on you the most, what else will you do? I have 0 respect for either McCain or Palin and would never want either in the White House. As an avid Democrat, when I found out about Bill Clinton I no longer respected or trusted him either.

He graciously said stick to issues and leave the personal stuff out, there's more than enough bad policy decisions to talk about.
MSM and the blogs are simply doing what they do to everyone, looking for the dirty laundry. The fact that the FBI says she hadn't been vetted through their agency and lawyers arrived in Alaska 72 hours after she was publicly announced opens some cans of worms that GOPers are unhappy about.
But strategically for McCain she gets the wingnut base all excited because she's a God Guns and Gays candidate. (Bogus culture war issues -avoids the real issues of the economy tanking, the myriads of banks failing, the middle class struggling to survive, oil war, the subverting of the constitution, blatant corruption through lobbyists, etc.)
And there may be a brain dead person or two who will vote for anything with female genitals. This is a sly strategy if it works, there are however 2 problems- the independents and moderates who remember McCain as a "straight talk" maverick in the 90s are not fond of the radical right.
McCain is sacrificing his strongest asset to gain the support of the wingnuts. And he is banking on Clinton supporters being too dumb to see Palin ,though she is a woman, is for everything Hillary fights against.

You are right about McCain's affair. His first wife, a model, was originally the wife of one of his friends at the Naval Academy. She had an affair with McCain, divorced her husband and then McCain married her and adopted her two children. Where do you think all those 7 kids came from?

While he was in Viet name his wife was involved in a bad auto accident and was somewhat disfigured. Soon after returning from Viet Nam, rather than caring for his wife, he had numerous affairs one with his present wife Cindy. I agree that looking into a persons associations and political insight is important to understand what kind of character they have - HOWEVER, if you are going to do it for ONE candidate, then you need to do it for ALL candidates.

You should watch the videos of Sarah Palin's minister and that of a visiting pastor from Africa protecting her from witchcraft. The lady is an extremely zealous evangelical and her fire breathing administrators of faith are fairly way over-the-top. That she can't carry on a simple question-and-answer session with Katy Couric makes her scary! I don't know when we became so tabloid driven in this society, more interested in the sex lives of candidates rather than the platforms they promote, but I couldn't care less. I never understood people's obsession over Bill Clinton's sex life, and I have the same feeling about the opposition. Who Palin is having an affair with, or even if she's having an affair, is of no consequence in my opinion. The only things that matter to me are her positions on issues and her qualifications to carry out any plans she may have. Beyond that, its none of my business and nothing but a distraction in a campaign that is too important to entertain distractions in. We have real issues to face and get through before someone is elected, and spending any energy on anything this ridiculous is just a waste in my opinion.

Well Palin has already put this country in an economic depression, by telling the world that is okay for teenagers to have unprotected sex. According to People's Magazine even she, was pregnant before she was married. The facts say that she eloped in August and her oldest son was born in April. Go figure why she can be so deceptive with controlling the rights of other women and animals, when she can't even control the one woman in her own house. Who say that this story was not going to be news when teenage pregancy has hit it lowest record. Now she has stirred another group of people into thinking that her daughter is a role model.

As much as it saddens me, we will never know what all of the candidates have done prior to their bid for office. We can only hope that serving the people to a higher standard than they served their families will be the case. But considering the viscious level of mud slinging by the Repubs in the 2004 election, I say let all of it fly. I've been stuffed full of their damn high, but fake, moral authority my entire life. Guys first the story was originally purchased from someone by the Equirer. When they were taken to task on this the story magically appears in a British rag. This isn't a credible story. I do find it interesting the reactions from the BHO camp and his telling people to leave the family alone yet his attack dogs did go after the daughter but left this alone. I'd say if the daughter was the press' big story, this is a non-issue. I would like to know who was paid for this and how he's connected to the story. Former cop/ brother-in-law, fired former employee, even better one of the GOP or DNC guys busted for oil corruption. This is a bogus story.

The only thing that makes this an issue, is that of hypocrisy among self-righteous dominionists. Clinton never pretended to be a religious person, though clearly a man of strong faith and conviction. I just find it so interesting that a huge majority of evidence suggests the Dem ticket has the most "family values"; personally, I say Sarah should keep getting laid as long as she can, as she will not be very hot much longer. She will age quickly before our eyes. As with most movie stars whose only appeal is sex, hers is only a couple of years away.

She wasted her youth and squandered her formal education, lackluster at best. Like many beautiful women, as her beauty faded, she sought other ways to get attention. Those kind deserve to be called on their hypocrisy. Now, let's get back to why did the media miss this one? Please. Don't be suprised. These media slaves are doing what they are told, otherwise corporate america (the ones backing mccain and that brought you the neo-conservative "revolution" of 1980) ad revenues dry up and the publisher is out of business and they are out of a job. Can you imagine Cokie Robers opening her mouth and putting her income, the income used to pay for tuition to Sidwell Friends and Ebbet's Grill dinner, at risk? These are the same people who's integrity, credibility, and investigative journalism missed (a) the outright lie that was the "pancake uranium in Africa" story that justified the Iraqi invasion; (b) the British intelligence manufacture of evidence to justify Britain's support for the Iraqi war; (c) the White House's edits of the Senate Report on Weapons of Mass Destruction until the war went badly althoguh now that same ignorance is a mere "regrettable" mistake in "judgement" by the media; (d) the violation of federal law (passed in Reagan's time) making it a crime of treason to disclose national security secrets (like Valerie Plame's intelligence role); and (e) the Ahmed Chalabi promise to "let America and Britain" get Iraqi oil already under contract to France, Russia, China, and Germany if America and Britain invaded Iraq and put Chalabi in power (the American "liberal" media saw this as a "conspiracy theory" (Jasus) and only dogged the French for refusing to vote for the invasion in the Security Council (remember Freedom Fries you idiots?). Our "liberal" media somehow "forgot" that Russia and China also vote and all THREE (Russia, China, and France) would lose their oil contracts if the other two that also voted (America and Britain) for war invaded and took that oil after a "new" government tore up the French, Russian, and Chinese contracts. A Nation of Sheep. Truly. Lead by the Shepherds of the Right. Just don't get too close, you won't like their evil smell any more than I do now. Palin is just another in a long series of Pharisees, vive le Veritas.

Puh-leeze! Kennedy, Clinton and on and on and on. There are bigger issues. Can she assume the Presidency if, God forbid, McCain is unable to? Actually, is McCain able to run the country at all? We, as voters, need to examine the real issues not the personal issues. Personally, I believe she blew the Gibson interview and, unless the gets up to speed, will probably stumble again. This election will not come down to "chads"...it will come down to who makes the biggest mistake. PERIOD.
