McCain tried to promote a slogan of "change", but then has hired mostly ex-Bush staffers to determine the direction of his campaign. From this, it should be clear that McCain has NO intention of making any dramatic change.

McCain CAN NOT campaign on the failed Bush policies.
The only campaign that McCain CAN run is one of bashing the opponent.

That is probably why the RNC keeps pushing Palin in front of the cameras to make all the stump speeches. All I have seen in todays news cycle is her in front of the microphone while McSame stands obediently in the background. I think the RNC knows she's not as associated with Bush like McSame is. It's kind of unusual to see the bottom of the ticket get more air time then the top of the ticket.

First off, it really makes no difference who you support, the parties never really get into much of the definate issues at their conventions. It is more to show the nation who they are, families and so forth to get people familiar with them. If either side says their side pointed to definate plans on how they are going to do things, you are all smoking something illeagal?

I can't wait for the debate between Biden and Palin. I think McCain thought if he picked a woman that they'd go easy on her when debating. But I doubt seriously that Biden is inclined to be soft just because she's a woman. He's never shied away from saying what needs saying, despite the later political consequences. That's one of the reasons I like him. He actually IS a straight shooter. She's going to come out swinging, but he's going to match her toe to toe and he's got being right on his side. The two sides are so different and deflection is a republican masterpiece. I doubt Biden will hold his tongue when he sees it happening, however. It should be VERY interesting, informative, and without a doubt entertaining. I can't wait!

The book "Losing Iraq" is a testimony to Biden knowledge of international affairs and his honesty, written by a long term state department member who resigned when Rummy got the Iraq recovery mission that he had planned for for years!
