Comments for Confessions of an RNC security guard »
Posted By GregD 1 year, 3 months ago in NewsGathered in the basement of an office building in a tough section of St. Paul, less than two weeks before the gavel drops downtown at the Republican National Convention, roughly 30 recruits hired by a private security company sit through 12 hours of lectures. I am one of these officers-in-training.

Good stuff in this article. Even the Republicans know they have doomed this country.

It's not surprising that Palin has "attracted" the men vote. The bikini clad mom toting a machine gun is right out of all the cheap entertainmen we see aimed at men and hawked all over the media today. The old nurse by day, prostitute by night mentality: you know the "good in the kitchen" AND likes sex. It's really pretty ridiculous, but men are so easy to manipulate with this stuff when they see in Playboy, etc. It becomes a pretty routine woody maker.
This makes Palin practically a cartoon. Just let me know when the graphic novel about Palin comes out. Can't wait. I won't be wearing tight pants.-

This Avi Steinburg fellow has a talent for writing in the narrative style. Good insight with just the right amount of humor. I think he hit the nail on the head with his observation that the male conservatives don't have a clue as to what Palins solutions are to the real problems facing this country like health care, job losses etc. All they know and care about is that she is HOT!. A reference to her being like Bush resonated with me because it clarified a disturbing impression I had that I could not find the words for, now I do. Palin is just George W. Bush in drag. Hopefully, some time soon, the so called 'liberal' press will start asking her the hard questions about her positions on national policies and her true character will start to come into focus.

"Palin ... she does remind me of Bush. McCain has made a devil's pact and sealed this party's fate."
Even though he's older, he smokes his cigarette like a young man, with earnest haste, before
"That's it," he said, "we're through. Even if we win, we've lost."
********
Lets back up a bit..
Who remembers which candidate was BOTTOM of the list of the Con's preferences at the beginning of the campaign - as professed, for example by the paid shills on propeller?
When McCain became the only one left standing suddenly this "surprise" 2nd-in-line appears out of nowhere and gets a 4 day initiation to become his deputy.
Can we read "minder" can we smell Mr Rove? Can we see continuity, even as Mr McCain co-opts Obama's word and spins it in a different way??
Without a doubt the ONLY hope for the survival of the US as we know it is an Obama win. It would be great if we could imagine and expect that he will be able to achieve a decent programme without sabotage every inch of the way by these same malefactors who, alas, are NOT going to disappear.
The only mystery is who exactly is paying the piper? -

Wait! He ended up in jail. OOPS! You certainly don't want to follow that conservative hero.
Then calling all political enemies Marxists. Lemme see. That would be Sen Joseph McCarthy. Too bad he died of alcoholism.
Gee, Lloyd. D'ya think you could find a couple of better conservative icons to emulate? Not only are these conservative heroes discredited and ridiculed now, what you have written is quite unoriginal and lacks any punch to it.
You may have thought yourself clever, dashing, and insightful when you wrote those words. But now it's rather ho-hum.
