Palin's Pastor: God "Is Gonna Strike Out His Hand Against" America »
Posted By Aidenag 10 months ago in NewsOn July 20, 2008, the pastor of Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin's home church, Larry Kroon, delivered a sermon called "Sin Is Personal To God." Kroon, the senior pastor of the non-denominational Wasilla Bible Church in Wasilla, Alaska, used the book of Zephanaiah as his reference point for discussing "that great day of the Lord when God will finally bring closure to human history... a day of wrath." According to Kroon, "all things and all people" are going to bear the brunt of God's "intense anger." "There's anger with God," he proclaimed. "He takes sin personal."

God is angry all right , but the humans are too deluded with themselves to understand that the anger is over the sin of how they have trashed the beautiful world that was created for them along with the total disregard for God's beautiful Creatures of Creation of which I am one.

Frankly one has to ask why the corporate media has strenuously avoided telling us that Palin is for theocracy, even if it has to be imposed on Americans by force.

Sarah Palin used AK tax dollars to fund dominionist churches
Over the past few days, I've done reporting on Sarah Palin's extensive dominionist connections--including the attempt to run her as a "stealth" dominionist candidate and her connections to some scary dominionist groups including not just "Joel's Army" folks but a far-right Christian Reconstructionist political party linked to domestic terrorism.

Palin's pastor has apparently manufactured a god who is powerful, but angry, vindictive, mean and chickensh!it, perpetually on the hunt for someone to punish, judge, get revenge on, etc.
And Palin apparently worships that diety. Does it resonate with her?
It's not a healthy sign. -

If a pastor or anyone else are going to pretend to represent God, then maybe they should read all of the Bible. THE NEW TESTAMENT says that God poured out "all of His wrath" on Jesus for "our sake." If God is still mad at us, then He is a liar. By the way, the Bible also says that God cannot lie. Yes, you read this right. There are a few things God cannot do. The Bible says that He cannot sin. It also says he cannot lie (which is also sin). So maybe this pastor should read "all of the Bible" before he stands in front of people and tries to speak for God. The problems in this world are a result of our own doing. God gave us the planet to care for it. He gave us the power of dominion. We have free will to make our own choices, but we must accept the consequences of our own behavior. Read the book of Genesis. To blame God for our own troubles is to slander God. I am sure this pastor was sincere, but he was also sincerely wrong. It is preaching like this that gives God a bad name.

Anyhow, as far as my opinion on Sarah Palin: whether one agrees with her political views or not is our own God-given choice. It's also our right as Americans so I wont belittle anyone who thinks differently than I. So, keep in mind that the following is just my opinion. I do take exception at the narrow mindedness of some people who say that Palin is somehow a bad parent if she is not home taking care of the kids (paraphrase). Last time I checked, she had a loving husband who has no apparent issues on taking care of them. The only thing he can't do is breast feed. :) I am a father of 5 children. My wife and I are both professional people. My wife runs a rehabilitation hospital and is required to travel extensively. I am able to take care of our children just as well as she can. There are a few single parents out there, you know; and some of them happen to be fathers. Its interesting to me that in these "modern times" some would have you think that it is ok for men to be in political powerl, but not women. If you are a woman and you "choose" to not pursue other ambitions outside the home... GREAT. That is your choice. But don't be so narrow-minded and criticize someone else who thinks differently. By the way, I do a great job taking care of our kids. My oldest just started college, he is an honor student, and got an accademic as well as athletic scholarship to a private university. my 12 year old and 10 year old are also honor students, blackbelts, play basketball for their schools, swim on the swimming team, and volunteer at our church. Our 5 year old twins are also doing well and are in gymnastics.
By the way, no, we are not rich, and don't have nannys. My wife and I take care of them, ourselves. I am not saying all of this to brag, just simply to say that it can be done. If my wife and I can do it, I am sure someone like Sarah Palin can do it too. -

Rev. Wright claims that the CIA created AIDS as a method of killing blacks but he is not racist or anti American. He points to the result of people jailed for the unusually high amount of black on black crime. Then he points to the relative number of blacks in prison and says his "G D America". but this is not racist or anti American.
But a preacher talks about end times and you ridiculous atheists go berserk about something you don't understand.

It's really scary to know how absolutely crazy people in this world are. What are you all talking about? Sara Palin? Sara Palin?. This is not about the color of the persons skin, its not wheather your Rep. or a Dem. All that matters is whats happening in this economy- are some of you actually so full of hate that you would even CONSIDER living another day like this. I am a professional mother of 2 children 1 in college 1 in high school. "I know all about bringing home the bacon and fryin it up in a pan", but I know there is no sane way that a women with 5 children- all of which are in situations or ages where they NEED there mother can run this country. She cant be two places at once- do you really think she is going to miss her kids hockey game to attend a serious matter that affects you and me? And if she did - is that fair to the child? I mean- come on yall' that's no life to have - with a nanny for a mom? Nothing scares me more than the thought of McCain & Palin in the white house. the decision today is going to effect our children our childrens children.........Unless you all have 5 million dollars in the bank, can buy anything you want from the market- not just what you need, pay for college tuition with no struggle. If that is you then I guess by all means-go crazy! But if you want to not see your parents and grandparents suffer because they cant afford all the medicines they need, or can pay for private school with ease...but if that' s not you, then put your hate aside, and listen with your ears to what is being said- we dont know who is going to keep their word when they get in the office, but when the words are without substance -just cliches and stories of being a prisoner of war- for 51/2 years- I mean is that something to brag about? Did McCain get any psychiatric help when he was freed- can you trust his mental and physical condition? And since everybody wants to talk about Palin and this stupid Ebay/Private Jet thing? Were's the money ? Where did the money she did get for the plane go? No one else eve thought about that? What is going on in this country! God help us all.

Haven’t you figured it out yet? Part of the reason the US finds itself in its current situation is because of its population’s delusional need to believe that there is some kindly old gent up in the sky that cares about them. Well there isn’t one.

Besides the whole "I am woman" argument, there is no way Palin can not neglect her children and be VP at the same time. The reason we don't ask this of men is because men are not the primary caregivers... unless the whole traditional values things the GOP espouses is now a thing of a past, which I doubt given all the Cindy madonna camera pans at the GOP convention.
But the basis question that needs to be asked of everyone and their conscience is "Do I really want this woman to be leader of the free world?" Think about it. -

I have talked to many Republicans who don't believe that the U.S. has a $10 trillion National Debt. They actually think it is made up just so that the government can tax them. The dollar would not have set record lows this year had there not been a $10 trillion National Debt. When Clinton balanced the budget, the dollar soared. I am not sure if the Republicans are smart enough to access and read the Forex currency charts, because I have yet to talk to a Republican with brains.

Yes, dollar soared, but the money came from somewhere, the FBI was in a shambles from cut funds and low and behold 3000 people died due to Clinton's mis calculations. You can save plenty, but you had bes be sure that you take the money from areas that are not necessarily needed at one time but might at another. Do you remember in the middle 90's when all the defense companies closed, thousands were out of work, did those people mean less to you then those out of work today?

Of all the people commenting here and railing against this pastor, how many of you actually took the time to listen to the sermon in question? There is a audio file on the linked article and I just listened to it. The article takes the pastor's words completely out of context and makes it sound like he's preaching how God is mad at America, etc. He doesn't say that at all. He's preaching on a passage where it says that God will wipe out all of humanity, which includes America. Taken in context, he's saying nothing outrageous if you believe in the Bible scripture he is sermonizing.

Now, I am not a Sarah Palin fan. I don't agree with any of her policy stances that we know of and I think she makes the McCain ticket even scarier than it was before she was selected. However, attacks like this are going to backfire on us. They aren't accurate, for one. And for those who are on the fence and really investigate what is being said, she comes out looking like the righteous one in this exchange......that's the scariest thing of all.
I really wish I could convince you all to quit with the slime attacks like these because it is so important for Obama to win that we can't afford to lose people over a matter of losing credibility for putting such unsubstantiated or false hack pieces out there about her. I want to defeat her, not martyr her. And pieces like this walk a fine line between the two. For the religious voters out there, you'll do nothing but alienate them when they hear the sermon and see how its all been twisted for political gain. They'll vote Palin just because you've called them nuts too. Is that really want you all want to do here? I hope that's not the case..-

Where Have I Seen Sarah Palin Before?
I grew up in Iran and immigrated to US to avoid living in a theocracy. Lately though, the trajectory of US politics is like the Ayatollahs. Sarah Palin was much better dressed than the average show mom paraded on Iranian TV more than 20 years ago. The show moms were typically dressed in a black veil. But that’s about the biggest difference. The rhetoric was eerily familiar. When she was finished, I knew I had seen her before. Only that it wasn’t her. It was her ideological predecessors at a different time in a different country.

God/Nature is going to win out over mankind, but not for any religious reasons; simply put mankind is nothing more than a ****ant in the face of Ma Nature. Really, when you think about it, mankind is not that far removed from the cave. We are far to ignorant to understand our place in the grand scheme of things. We have misjudged our position and as a result have worked against Nature instead of with it. We have not been very good caretakes of the planet; we are still too bellicose; and perhaps most important of all, we are so full of ourselves that we have inflated our importance. Good to see you here!
If you read Barack Obama's bio and his accomplishments, perhaps you can see why SO MANY people are excited about his positive message and an extremely well-run campaign that always took the high road.
Now that McPain has started slinging mud on a daily basis, Obama has to respond. Even then, he is sticking to facts that can be verified.
McPain, in the meanwhile is running like a rooster around Palin! Something just seems very odd the way his body language speaks! After all, he has a long track record of fooling around with married women - his divorced ex-wife was married when he was making out with her; from what I read, his current wife was married to someone else when he was doing his "thing", and one lobbyist who also fit that description!
It is disconcerting, isn't it?

What is more alarming in this world is the amount of ministers doing sermons that do not help people cope with every day life, help people survive and find good in those around them, these pastors and ministers are promoting evil, hate and contempt and this does not seem to be a healthy environment for us and our children. How would americans feel if in our public schools this was not only done, but accepted? We would be furious. Enough, if your big old mouth cannot put out some kind words of optimism and encouragement, pack your crap up and move to a country were your sermons will be welcomed..... PEOPLE NEED TO START THINKING AND NOT LET RELIGION DICTATE WHAT THEY FEEL, STOP LETTING THESE CRAZY CONTROLLING MEN/WOMEN WHO STAND AT PODIUMS ALL OVER THIS GREAT COUNTRY TELL YOU ALL OF THE REASONS THAT LIFE SUCKS, FIND THE REASONS WHY LIFE IS WONDERFUL, THEY ARE THERE IF YOU LOOK...

The democrats are all for taxing the rich but that is not really what happens. The rich never pay taxes. They just seek another shelter for their money. The poor don't have anything so 0 of 0 is 0. The ones who end up paying for all of this socialized programs is the middle class. So we keep working to pay for bums that cannot get off of their a-- and do something for themselves. We are also paying for a war that the republicans insisted that was necessary for our national security. When are we as Ameicans going to rise up and tell these imposters that we don't want any of them? I am neither republican nor democrat. I AM AMERICAN and proud of it. its foolish to think that god doesnt exist. just us being here is a pretty big miracle. but i believe for more scientific reasons...i mean look at water, its a molecule that seems like it was made specificaly to bring life. i mean we are literally a bubble of life in the middle of the most uninhabitable enviroment imaginable. now whether or not god is watching over us, or whether or not there is an afterlife none of us can say. for every story of miracles and prayers working there is a hundred stories of them not. i say god exists but i'm sure he or she is not interested in the least by this election.. or in christmas for that matter. we've made a mess of that holiday.

that's the problem of God as omnipotent.
the all-powerful, beneficent Allah, cannot do a lot of things. God cannot cease to be, he cannot lie and he cannot beat me at thumb-wrestling, as it requires thumbs
I prefer to believe in a non-omnipotent God, because then its not that he COULD save babies that die in car crashes and wars, and yes, abortion tables, but chooses not to help.
I wouldn't have any respect for a man who lets a baby get run over in the street when he could have easily run out and picked the child up, so why should I have any more respect for and hold God to a LESSER standard than man?
so I prefer to believe in a non-all-powerful God who's nature is not understood by those that call him omnipotent
