Comments for Palin's Pastor: God "Is Gonna Strike Out His Hand Against" America »
Posted By Aidenag 1 year, 3 months ago in NewsOn July 20, 2008, the pastor of Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin's home church, Larry Kroon, delivered a sermon called "Sin Is Personal To God." Kroon, the senior pastor of the non-denominational Wasilla Bible Church in Wasilla, Alaska, used the book of Zephanaiah as his reference point for discussing "that great day of the Lord when God will finally bring closure to human history... a day of wrath." According to Kroon, "all things and all people" are going to bear the brunt of God's "intense anger." "There's anger with God," he proclaimed. "He takes sin personal."

God is angry all right , but the humans are too deluded with themselves to understand that the anger is over the sin of how they have trashed the beautiful world that was created for them along with the total disregard for God's beautiful Creatures of Creation of which I am one.

When will you post a story about Obama's failures? (Suggest Grove Parc)
When will you try to learn about fairness?-

Palin is new on the scene;

The other 3 in the race have been in the spotlight for months ( or years ).
While it is better to be saying good things about one's candidate, than bad things about one's oponent, -
it is fair to examine Palin the same way the other candidates have been examined.
Unless you are going to tell us that her church has no bearing on her beliefs...
Now see? You just learned something about fairness.-

Yes, I understand that Palin is new on the scene. I fully support investigations of her record. Since the story I highlighted above, posted by Aidenag, is about Palin being her own child's grandmother, it does not fit the bill. It's sole purpose is to fling mud. What are your thoughts about that story? What are your thoughts about fairness related to that story? Do you support a scout posting a story such as that one? I will believe you know about fairness if you answer these questions.

Decent questions, Lovemylibs:

I strongly oppose bringing in references to children. Kids are off-limits.
Affairs are relevant as character issues; when provable .
The opinions of a candidate's church are valid to discuss (but fataly easy to distort).
I do not hold scouts up to higher standards; they can do whatever we can do.
And all we can do, is hold ourselves up to the standards we value.-

I've defended Obama on several issues. Rev. Wright, stategate (# of states), the attacks on Michelle, to name a few. I have stated these defenses on more than one thread. Almost every time I defended Obama I was negged more than pos'ed. Back when you could still see who did the negging and pos'ing, the negs almost came from the more liberal posters here. So, in the spirit of fairness, I conclude that my "whining" is warranted. I also conclude that Palin has been unfairly attacked by both the mainstream media and some of the scouts on Propeller. I mention the scouts only because these same scouts did some "strategic whining" about the attacks against Obama.

Anatomy of a Smear
http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2008/0...
Blogger Charlie Martin has helpfully compiled all of the smears that the left has hurled at Sarah Palin. 54 and counting!
“Given that we’re more than halfway to the century mark in Palin smears, I think it’s time to take another brief look at the left’s method of smear dissemination.”
“former business partner in question had had an affair with Sarah Palin”
“Quicker than you can say “conspiracy theory lunatic,” this particular lunatic theory jumped off the tracks. The Court denied the motion to conceal the papers, allowing the curious to sniff through them. Shock of shocks, Sarah Palin’s name wasn’t even mentioned in the filings. Nor was there anything regarding an affair with her. In this particular wild goose chase, the goose flew free”
“Thus, the method of the smear mechanism reveals itself – print a lot of speculative crap, all while maintaining a malign indifference as to whether or not you can prove said speculative crap.”
One more thing of journalistic interest occurs: The “news” about the motion to seal the divorce papers appeared in the virtual pages of the Atlantic first, not the National Enquirer or the Daily Kos as one might expect. Obviously, Atlantic field reporters haven’t trekked up to Alaska to monitor every random court filing. Therefore, someone had to tip off the Atlantic’s chief rumor spreader about the motion to seal the divorce papers. It would be interesting to know at whose bidding the Atlantic staffer in question is spreading unfounded smears.
I’m sure in the interests of full disclosure, the magazine and its chief rumor spreader will rush this information to the public. Right after they apologize for yesterday’s smear du jour turning up empty.”-

Well Mivan, isn't it interesting how much more patriotic and pro-american Rev. Wright is than Palin's pastor? Here is what Ronald Regan's Asst. Secretary of Defense had to say about Wright.

Pretty much shows how the GOP has deteriorated in recent years.
Rev. Jeremiah Wright, a True Patriot
In 1961, a young African-American man, after hearing President John F. Kennedy's challenge to, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," gave up his student deferment, left college in Virginia and voluntarily joined the Marines. In 1963, this man, having completed his two years of service in the Marines, volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. (They provide medical assistance to the Marines as well as to Navy personnel.)
The man did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian and became a cardiopulmonary technician. Not surprisingly, he was assigned to the Navy's premier medical facility, Bethesda Naval Hospital, as a member of the commander in chief's medical team, and helped care for President Lyndon B. Johnson after his 1966 surgery. For his service on the team, which he left in 1967, the White House awarded him three letters of commendation. What is even more remarkable is that this man entered the Marines and Navy not many years after the two branches began to become integrated.-

While this young man was serving six years on active duty, Vice President **** Cheney, who was born the same year as the Marine/sailor, received five deferments, four for being an undergraduate and graduate student and one for being a prospective father. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, both five years younger than the African-American youth, used their student deferments to stay in college until 1968. Both then avoided going on active duty through family connections.
Reply
Who is the real patriot? The young man who interrupted his studies to serve his country for six years or our three political leaders who beat the system? Are the patriots the people who actually sacrifice something or those who merely talk about their love of the country?
After leaving the service of his country, the young African-American finished his final year of college, entered the seminary, was ordained as a minister, and eventually became pastor of a large church in one of America's biggest cities.__This man is Rev. Jeremiah Wright....

You stop short in your history of Rev. Wright. After leaving the military and getting his schooling he found Black Liberation Theology. That shaped the rest of his career. That theology is what he preached at that church and it was what was already being preached there. Black are oppressed by whities and all of the Bible is viewed through that lens. They reject any other type theology and say that it is white theology that just tries to keep blacks down. This despite4 the fact that the Bible says that all are equal before Jesus. It creates a self fulfilling prophecy for the young black in that church. If they fail at something whitie is a good scapegoat. They didn't have a chance so why try.

Poor choice is relative - relative to what YOUR definition is. It is you that can't take a "fair and balanced" assessment of all of the situations.
McCain is Bush III - he sold his soul and abdicated ALL of his stances on all the main issues so that he could become the Republican nominee. He is NOT worthy or able to be President.-

Africa - hundreds of thousands of people are being MURDERED due to political violence and racism (ethnic cleansing). Are you saying that you do NOT want to help those innocents that are being starved and slaughtered?
Biblical Education - I really DO wonder what your problem is with this. Of course, if offered in public schools it should be VOLUNTARY. Otherwise, what is 'wrong' with it?
As a point of clarification: "the term Diaspora carries a sense of displacement; that is, the population so described finds itself for whatever reason separated from its national territory; and usually it has a hope, or at least a desire, to return to their homeland at some point, if the "homeland" still exists in any meaningful sense."
So, you are against educating African Americans - that are not in their original homelands - of their heritage?
You also need to explain "liberation". If people want to be liberated from ethnic and economic racism, sounds good to me. What is wrong with that?
Economic parity - do you think that it is wrong to do whatever is possible to eliminate poverty and help ensure that everyone in this country has a decent job and earns a decent, LIVING wage and can support themselves and their families?
PLEASE - explain what your 'problem' is with all of that.-

I think I have more resistance to that concept than you do
Reply
but thank you for clarifying.
I don't even like the "voluntary" prayer idea in public schools
and I'll tell you why -
If say 90% of the students in a school are Catholic ( for example)
and that includes the teacher, and they announce the time for
silent prayer. Well, not much happens till the end of this
special time with hands clasped and heads bowed until everyone
(including the teacher) crosses themselves in the name of the
Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. If you are one of the few
in attendance not of the Catholic faith? You stand out like a
sore thumb - you are now set apart for a difference in faith.
You can be ostracized for that seemingly benign little silent
moment. The sad thing is that it is SO, SO unnecessary.
There is absolutely NO way that a student - or anyone -
can be denied their right to pray to their God - they just
don't have to make a ritual out of that time.
Like, "Time for our silent prayer". Why add that burden
to our public school system - where all should feel equal?
Soldiers in the field most likely know a good deal about a private communication with their God. Quite a common occurrence during battle - but it goes directly from their heart or mind without
any ceremony.
I have always felt it is an intrusion in public schools.

And I don't care about Palin's beliefs, except that she wants to overturn Roe v. Wade, a CIVIL law. She wants to take away CIVIL CHOICE for women that she does NOT know and would NOT help and would not otherwise care ONE bit about their lives.

It is one thing to be concerned but a different thing to have an allegiance to it. That is what it used to say. The site has been toned down since the new pastor took over. It is not quite so blatant.
The Diaspora was applied to the Jews when they were removed from Israel. While a lot of blacks were taken from Africa to come here there is a problem in that half of the blacks living in the US are descendants of blacks who came here voluntarily. That term is weighted so that all will believe that all blacks came here as slaves. Not an honest representation.
Liberation. This implies that there are laws that have to be changed to give blacks an equal chance at a normal life in this country. Looking around at all fields there are a lot of blacks in them all. If this country needed liberation that would not be the case. All persons can make of themselves what they want by getting an education and working at getting a good job. There are too many examples out there about this. I guess you will call me a racist. Go ahead but read my profile before you make a fool out of yourself.
Economic parity. Code words for take from the rich and give it to the poor. What it means is that when someone works hard and creates some wealth it should be ripped from him and be given to those who do not want to try. Anybody that is willing to work can make a good living unless they have a physical or mental problem. I do not include a belief that they are being held down a mental problem. It is a belief problem. They bought into the black racist viewpoint.

If a pastor or anyone else are going to pretend to represent God, then maybe they should read all of the Bible. THE NEW TESTAMENT says that God poured out "all of His wrath" on Jesus for "our sake." If God is still mad at us, then He is a liar. By the way, the Bible also says that God cannot lie. Yes, you read this right. There are a few things God cannot do. The Bible says that He cannot sin. It also says he cannot lie (which is also sin). So maybe this pastor should read "all of the Bible" before he stands in front of people and tries to speak for God. The problems in this world are a result of our own doing. God gave us the planet to care for it. He gave us the power of dominion. We have free will to make our own choices, but we must accept the consequences of our own behavior. Read the book of Genesis. To blame God for our own troubles is to slander God. I am sure this pastor was sincere, but he was also sincerely wrong. It is preaching like this that gives God a bad name.

Anyhow, as far as my opinion on Sarah Palin: whether one agrees with her political views or not is our own God-given choice. It's also our right as Americans so I wont belittle anyone who thinks differently than I. So, keep in mind that the following is just my opinion. I do take exception at the narrow mindedness of some people who say that Palin is somehow a bad parent if she is not home taking care of the kids (paraphrase). Last time I checked, she had a loving husband who has no apparent issues on taking care of them. The only thing he can't do is breast feed. :) I am a father of 5 children. My wife and I are both professional people. My wife runs a rehabilitation hospital and is required to travel extensively. I am able to take care of our children just as well as she can. There are a few single parents out there, you know; and some of them happen to be fathers. Its interesting to me that in these "modern times" some would have you think that it is ok for men to be in political powerl, but not women. If you are a woman and you "choose" to not pursue other ambitions outside the home... GREAT. That is your choice. But don't be so narrow-minded and criticize someone else who thinks differently. By the way, I do a great job taking care of our kids. My oldest just started college, he is an honor student, and got an accademic as well as athletic scholarship to a private university. my 12 year old and 10 year old are also honor students, blackbelts, play basketball for their schools, swim on the swimming team, and volunteer at our church. Our 5 year old twins are also doing well and are in gymnastics.
By the way, no, we are not rich, and don't have nannys. My wife and I take care of them, ourselves. I am not saying all of this to brag, just simply to say that it can be done. If my wife and I can do it, I am sure someone like Sarah Palin can do it too. -

Well you can say that. But it is not true. God has poured out all his wrath on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the cross. It is done !!!
But man still has to accept the propitiation and the death of Christ as his salvation. We are not robots, nor are we saved just because Christ died for us. We must accept and live in Christ. To deny Christ is to reject the salvation he gave us with his death.
Therefore some do reap the wrath of God, he is no liar !!!!!! Nor is he mocked !!!
We are either saved in Christ or we face the judgement of God according to the law.
That is in the Bible, and not one is sinless by the law. For all will bow one day to Jesus and confess him as Lord.
That is alluded too throughout the Old Testament as well as the New Testament .
By the way. Good for you and your wife and family. It is nice to hear of families thriving today. -

It's really scary to know how absolutely crazy people in this world are. What are you all talking about? Sara Palin? Sara Palin?. This is not about the color of the persons skin, its not wheather your Rep. or a Dem. All that matters is whats happening in this economy- are some of you actually so full of hate that you would even CONSIDER living another day like this. I am a professional mother of 2 children 1 in college 1 in high school. "I know all about bringing home the bacon and fryin it up in a pan", but I know there is no sane way that a women with 5 children- all of which are in situations or ages where they NEED there mother can run this country. She cant be two places at once- do you really think she is going to miss her kids hockey game to attend a serious matter that affects you and me? And if she did - is that fair to the child? I mean- come on yall' that's no life to have - with a nanny for a mom? Nothing scares me more than the thought of McCain & Palin in the white house. the decision today is going to effect our children our childrens children.........Unless you all have 5 million dollars in the bank, can buy anything you want from the market- not just what you need, pay for college tuition with no struggle. If that is you then I guess by all means-go crazy! But if you want to not see your parents and grandparents suffer because they cant afford all the medicines they need, or can pay for private school with ease...but if that' s not you, then put your hate aside, and listen with your ears to what is being said- we dont know who is going to keep their word when they get in the office, but when the words are without substance -just cliches and stories of being a prisoner of war- for 51/2 years- I mean is that something to brag about? Did McCain get any psychiatric help when he was freed- can you trust his mental and physical condition? And since everybody wants to talk about Palin and this stupid Ebay/Private Jet thing? Were's the money ? Where did the money she did get for the plane go? No one else eve thought about that? What is going on in this country! God help us all.

Survived??? Nixon reagan and Bush?? Apparently you are not old enough to remember the Carter fiasco! His brillance in rescuing the hostages - now that was intelligence, NO GAS - do you remember waiting in line for hours for gas???? When having a mortgage at 8-13% was considered great?? Perhaps not. He was a dolt. Nixon created the DEA and put a dent in drugs entering our country. Reagan was the greatest president we had. Remember, he was the one that turned the country around. Obama wants to socialize health care - I ask you - you want to put the government ( who can't manage public schools or social security) in charge of health care? Also, how exactly is Obama going to help people "living from paycheck to paycheck?"

Reagan's economic record was worse than Carter's (one of the worst of all modern presidents). Less growth, loss of income and more unemployment.
During Reagan, 40% of Americans lost their savings and became net debtors.
During Reagan, taxes on average Americans were raised twice (to levels higher than Carter), while the super-rich got massive tax breaks.
From Warsaw Pact documents and documents released by our own government, we now know that the Soviets abandoned the arms race already in the late 1960s (hence all the treaties from the early 1970s). Reagan's "star wars" was just a giant boondoggle to pay off corruption amongst his buddies in the corrupt corporate welfare queens of the "defence" industry.
During Reagan elements of the government together with our very own "christian killers" were traficking drugs and illegal arms to carry out their program of killing 300,000 christians in central America.
Some people will swallow any propaganda fed them by corrupt politicians. Some people continue to do so.
'America's Outrageous War Economy!'
Yes, America’s economy is a war economy. Not a “manufacturing” economy. Not an “agricultural” economy. Nor a “service” economy. Not even a “consumer” economy. Pentagon can't find $2.3 trillion, wasting trillions on 'national defense'.

This is totally revisionist and delusional. Carter wasn't the greatest president but he had enough sense to tell people the way it was and not start a war with an oil producing country and never mention the words cutting back or conserve. The hostage crisis was not of his making unlike a certain war we're now mired in like an elephant in quicksand. The DEA has put no dent in drugs, there are more now than at any time in history. As a working man I remember Reagan's presidency mostly for being laid off and waiting 6 hours in a line to get into the UE office, if I got there 4 hours before it opened. Greatest we ever had would be a joke if it weren't so tragic that people actually think that. I'll let anybody be in charge of health care as long as there is some kind of public health care system. This country can't go on much longer without it. Obama, exactly, is going to quit these stupid tax cuts to big business and corporations and Big Oil, put capital gains taxes back to where they were before Bush cut them from 28 to 10 percent, repeal the laws that let a company jump to Asia or Central America to set up shop no matter how much they're making here just to get away from the unions and paying a decent wage, and getting us out of a war we're too big to lose but are never going to win but keep pouring billions down an endless pit and keeps the Mideast in an uproar. For starters. -

Nixon and Ford were president during the time of those lines. The inflation and interest rates were the results of Nixon freezing the dollar. When Carter unlocked it, as someone had to, things got bad until it stabilized at its new level. Carter started funding for alternative energy. Reagan cancelled that.

Unions begin big election effort, By John Wojcik, People's Weekly World
With the primary season over, labor is wasting no time jumping into the fall campaign. The 10-million-member AFL-CIO is expected to endorse Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, shortly. The Change to Win federation has already endorsed him.
Once the AFL-CIO officially endorses Obama, it is expected to deploy large numbers of ground troops for the election. It has already budgeted $54.3 million for its own get-out-the vote drive and may, according to its political committee chairman, AFSCME President Gerald McEntee, spend as much as $60 million on the effort.
The Steelworkers have already begun what they say will be 30,000 or more worksite visits by union activists, talking directly to workers about Obama’s positions. They’re emphasizing his proposals for fair trade policies and for creation of millions of good paying “green” manufacturing jobs. The jobs they are talking about include production of solar cells, industrial-sized windmills to power electric turbines, and hybrid automobile engines.
The Service Employees (SEIU), the largest union in the Change to Win federation, voted at their June 2–4 convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to spend $85 million for the fall campaign to elect Obama and a bigger Democratic majority in Congress.
An additional $55 million will be spent for a legislative campaign to push for creation of a “universal, comprehensive and affordable national health care plan,” according to a union statement issued after the convention.
In a unique move, SEIU voted to spend $10 million to mount campaigns against legislators on any level who go back on promises they have made to the labor movement.
The SEIU info
Organizing in Oregon
The Civil and Human Rights Committee of SEIU Local 503, Oregon Public Employees Union sponsored and hosted a talk by Communist Party Vice Chair Jarvis Tyner, Local 503 retiree activist Ann Montague and union organizer Bob Novick on Friday, August 8 in Portland, Oregon.
The forum was held to reflect on past civil rights struggles and to tie these to the present political moment. The panel featured three slightly different perspectives on the past and on the Obama candidacy. Communist literature was briskly distributed. One woman who attended took a number of items with her for her non-union paper mill.
Plans are in the works to follow up on the weekend with mailings, personal contact and e-mails. Three people have expressed an interest in joining the Party and several more heard about socialism for the first time at these events.-

Aw, Klarissa, aren't you going to soap box about the NEA and the AFT? The two teachers unions in this country have both sided with Barack Obama. With over 4 million unionized teachers, surely you have something to say about us! Come on, the SEIU and AFSCME are backers of the Democrats, and rightly so. The Democrats have had labor's best interests at heart for decades now. One only need look at the disaster of the 1980s when your beloved Ronnie Reagan trashed the air traffic controllers union. We do not need to watch out for corporations best interests, they will fend for themselves. It is the average, typical middle and lower class Americans who need all the support their government can muster. I know that eats at you, but what else can you do when you own 7 homes and make over $5 million?

The problem is that people bought too much house with balloon payments that they weren't going to be able to make, and now it's everybody else's problem. How about a house for $65,000 and a little less square footage and payments that you could afford always.-

IT was the republicans the removed regulation from the finance and mortgage industires, the repubs are all about deregulation, spurred on by a major effort by one of McCain's economic advisors, the "they're just whiners" Phil Gramm, who milked the change for all it's worth and got rich.
It used to be that you had to "qualify " for a mortgage through a series of benchmark ratios. Remove this regulation, and anyone could get a mortgage as long as there was someone out there to give it to them. And there were plenty of mortgage brokers out there to do it-- no qualifying and no accountablity, as the mortgages were packaged up by other professionals and no one bothered to find out if people could actually afford their homes.
SO the problem lies squarely on the "gee who's gonna know" "we don't need no regulation" Republicans. Now they are trying the same thing with the food supply--not enforcing existing regulations and ignoring others. If the regulations were in place, individual judgments by mortgage buyers and suppliers would be irrelevant.-

The dem/lib/socialist/communists love regulations and oversight...it just gives them more opportunity to reach into the kitty. By the way, Obama received the second greatest amount in monies from lobbyists for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Isn't that peculiar? I think we need a total investigation into why a 3 year Senator has so much going on in 143 days of service and I also think we need to know who has had their hands in the til...betcha it's mostly dem/lib/socialist/communists.

I agree with you on McCains and Bushs leading deregulation Energy and Banking industry and etc. for their own selected "peeps" greed at the expense of everyday people, your grandparents, parents and family and friends. It is very clear...McCain intends to seek deregulation of our Social Security and Health Care and result in disastrous bailout, again. Therefore, U.S. economy and any credibility we have, will be completely destroyed and resulting in total chaos. Why are they doing this? They already know what the repercussions will be...simply grand payouts to their top executives at the expense of the lives of our everyday citizens, especially those in the retired population. I think that is referred to as "cronyism". "Experience in Washington" seems to be a moot point. We have had Less experienced become our President of the United States...such as a tailor, Andrew Jackson. There are many many others on the list of Presidents with less experience than "who". I can only speak for my own experience-but I know there is a God- when I look at my beautiful children, when I see the stars in the sky, the trees and all the amazing and beautiful creatures that inhabit this earth. When I survived what I survived- when my mother beat breast cancer, when I cried out to him and he answered, when my kids come home safe and remain healthy, when I feel love, when I see a babys smile-even when I take a breath of air -all the wonders of the world- unless it was your uncle or somebody that created this earth and gave us life-I can't vouch for no book, but I sat around a dying relative and held hands and prayed and witnessed the miracle of his recovery-even if it was the doctors and the medicine- thank GOD for that too. If there is not one thing you can look back on and say I can't believe I survived never experienced any form of miracle in your life then maybe you should give God a try. It's the same mind set that allows you to be against Obama- the one where you would criticize and look down on something that gives you hope, gives you peace, teaches love and gives you a guideline to use-because if we had none-no rules, nothing that said this is right and this is wrong-what kind of world would this be?

Besides the whole "I am woman" argument, there is no way Palin can not neglect her children and be VP at the same time. The reason we don't ask this of men is because men are not the primary caregivers... unless the whole traditional values things the GOP espouses is now a thing of a past, which I doubt given all the Cindy madonna camera pans at the GOP convention.
But the basis question that needs to be asked of everyone and their conscience is "Do I really want this woman to be leader of the free world?" Think about it.-

I have talked to many Republicans who don't believe that the U.S. has a $10 trillion National Debt. They actually think it is made up just so that the government can tax them. The dollar would not have set record lows this year had there not been a $10 trillion National Debt. When Clinton balanced the budget, the dollar soared. I am not sure if the Republicans are smart enough to access and read the Forex currency charts, because I have yet to talk to a Republican with brains.

Yes, dollar soared, but the money came from somewhere, the FBI was in a shambles from cut funds and low and behold 3000 people died due to Clinton's mis calculations. You can save plenty, but you had bes be sure that you take the money from areas that are not necessarily needed at one time but might at another. Do you remember in the middle 90's when all the defense companies closed, thousands were out of work, did those people mean less to you then those out of work today?

Of all the people commenting here and railing against this pastor, how many of you actually took the time to listen to the sermon in question? There is a audio file on the linked article and I just listened to it. The article takes the pastor's words completely out of context and makes it sound like he's preaching how God is mad at America, etc. He doesn't say that at all. He's preaching on a passage where it says that God will wipe out all of humanity, which includes America. Taken in context, he's saying nothing outrageous if you believe in the Bible scripture he is sermonizing.
Reply
Now, I am not a Sarah Palin fan. I don't agree with any of her policy stances that we know of and I think she makes the McCain ticket even scarier than it was before she was selected. However, attacks like this are going to backfire on us. They aren't accurate, for one. And for those who are on the fence and really investigate what is being said, she comes out looking like the righteous one in this exchange......that's the scariest thing of all.
I really wish I could convince you all to quit with the slime attacks like these because it is so important for Obama to win that we can't afford to lose people over a matter of losing credibility for putting such unsubstantiated or false hack pieces out there about her. I want to defeat her, not martyr her. And pieces like this walk a fine line between the two. For the religious voters out there, you'll do nothing but alienate them when they hear the sermon and see how its all been twisted for political gain. They'll vote Palin just because you've called them nuts too. Is that really want you all want to do here? I hope that's not the case..-

Where Have I Seen Sarah Palin Before?
I grew up in Iran and immigrated to US to avoid living in a theocracy. Lately though, the trajectory of US politics is like the Ayatollahs. Sarah Palin was much better dressed than the average show mom paraded on Iranian TV more than 20 years ago. The show moms were typically dressed in a black veil. But that’s about the biggest difference. The rhetoric was eerily familiar. When she was finished, I knew I had seen her before. Only that it wasn’t her. It was her ideological predecessors at a different time in a different country.

Really, when you think about it, mankind is not that far removed from the cave. We are far to ignorant to understand our place in the grand scheme of things. We have misjudged our position and as a result have worked against Nature instead of with it. We have not been very good caretakes of the planet; we are still too bellicose; and perhaps most important of all, we are so full of ourselves that we have inflated our importance. What is more alarming in this world is the amount of ministers doing sermons that do not help people cope with every day life, help people survive and find good in those around them, these pastors and ministers are promoting evil, hate and contempt and this does not seem to be a healthy environment for us and our children. How would americans feel if in our public schools this was not only done, but accepted? We would be furious. Enough, if your big old mouth cannot put out some kind words of optimism and encouragement, pack your crap up and move to a country were your sermons will be welcomed..... PEOPLE NEED TO START THINKING AND NOT LET RELIGION DICTATE WHAT THEY FEEL, STOP LETTING THESE CRAZY CONTROLLING MEN/WOMEN WHO STAND AT PODIUMS ALL OVER THIS GREAT COUNTRY TELL YOU ALL OF THE REASONS THAT LIFE SUCKS, FIND THE REASONS WHY LIFE IS WONDERFUL, THEY ARE THERE IF YOU LOOK...

Its interesting to me that in these "modern times" some would have you think that it is ok for men to be in political power, but not women. If you are a woman and you "choose" to not pursue other ambitions outside the home... GREAT. That is your choice. But don't be so narrow-minded and criticize someone else who thinks differently. By the way, I do a great job taking care of our kids. My oldest just started college, he is an honor student, and got an academic as well as athletic scholarship to a private university. my 12 year old and 10 year old are also honor students, blackbelts, play basketball for their schools, swim on the swimming team, and volunteer at our church. Our 5 year old twins are also doing well and are in gymnastics.
By the way, no, we are not rich, and don't have nannys. My wife and I take care of them, ourselves. I am not saying all of this to brag, just simply to say that it can be done. If my wife and I can do it, I am sure someone like Sarah Palin can do it too.-

that's the problem of God as omnipotent.
the all-powerful, beneficent Allah, cannot do a lot of things. God cannot cease to be, he cannot lie and he cannot beat me at thumb-wrestling, as it requires thumbs
I prefer to believe in a non-omnipotent God, because then its not that he COULD save babies that die in car crashes and wars, and yes, abortion tables, but chooses not to help.
I wouldn't have any respect for a man who lets a baby get run over in the street when he could have easily run out and picked the child up, so why should I have any more respect for and hold God to a LESSER standard than man?
so I prefer to believe in a non-all-powerful God who's nature is not understood by those that call him omnipotent-

Yahweh, the Almighty Heavenly Father, is also angry about the other personal sins that people in this country are committing.. beginning with thinking that his commandments were done away with and that we now live under the "dispensation of grace". No we may not have or worship anything or anyone other the Him (some people don't realize they put money before Him), if we love Him we would keep his commandments.. honor our parents.. keep holy his Sabbath day --which is from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown not Sunday for Yahweh in NOT the sun god,.. not killing your neighbor -- which is more than just stabbing or shooting, you can "kill" people by degrading them, discouraging their large and small deeds, casting them aside as if they have no value thru word or deed, killing their "spirit"... coveting your neighbor's anything that includes lusting after their spouse... stealing anybody's anything that includes stealing Yahweh's glory by being presumptuous enough to think that you can and have done everything on your own. Yahweh says "without me you can do nothing". Yes, he is upset about how we have treated this land we are living on but he is even more upset with how we are irreverencing Him and mistreating each other. .. and we can start by reflecting on these, repenting of these truly with a contrite heart, and believing that his son Yahshua Messiah -- who most people know of as Jesus-- paid the sin debt for us & accepting him by his REAL name. We must all go deeper my friends.

I dont understand why this is a story! Obama's pastor said this country released HIV to blacks and minorities. Obama's pastor said downright CRAZY things. Palin's pastor, on the other hand, spoke the truth. God is not happy with us. We are an imperfect world. What do you morons think happened in the old testament when God got p-i-s-s-e-d at everyone because of how sinful they were? He sent a flood to destroy everything. God is angry with us. The world and its people are full of sin, you, me, everyone! AND any true christian knows JUDEGEMENT DAY is coming. So if you are a christian you cannot disagree with this pastor, our world and worldly behavior is sinful and makes God angry. However this pastor, and the bible both never say that we cannot beat sin. Because Jesus and God are forgiving, we CAN ALL come to christ and he will open his arms to us in forgiveness and love. Wake up "christian" people! Put aside Obama and McCain for a second, and read what scriptrure has to tell us, than form your opinion!

My own opinion about Palin is that she's a lying sack of sh!t. This stuff about her being the mother of the 4 month old Down's Syndrome child is pure cr*p. If she really wants to put the record straight, all she has to do is to release the medical records of her alleged delivery of the child. Simple. Instead, she throws her 17- year old under the bus. You wait, after the election, the Palins will release the "heartbreaking" news that poor Bristol miscarried. Wow, what a surprise.
Oh, and BTW, to set one other big lie straight, this issue isn't about Bristol, and attacking Palin on it is NOT dragging the poor girl through the mud. Her mother's already seen fit to do that. This issue is about Palin herself, pure, plain and simple. If she's willing to cover up and lie about this, imagine what she'd be willing to lie and cover up about as prez, like a war based on lies about WMD's, for instance??? -

But I'm gonna take a blind guess.
All the Republicans are going "What about that racist militant black Rev Wright?"
And the dems are laughing their butts off at the fact that there are, indeed NUTS on both sides of the fence, not just the left.
The problem is that these bible-thumping flag-waving religious zealots on the right have been pretty successful in their bid to control American politics.
What I want to know is, when the hell did the Republican Party become the Christian Party?
I am a Christian, I own a gun, AND I'm a Democrat.
It IS possible, you know!-

I haven't read your post;

but I am guessing you dissed the republicans, accused them of waving the flag instead of working to better their country; and probably you point out that they are more the party of religious shouting than religious believing.
And that works for me. Good post!

Why don't we have your God fight my God, or maybe have the GODS have a drinking contest. I have never heard a preacher who didn't want to tell me how mad God is and will get us.

Boy , this pastor is such a ******* Idiot!!! There is NO SUCH THING AS GOD. People just created this concept in their minds to help them cope with their problems. Thats what you call "Creationism". When this planet burns up and we all perish its not going to have anything to do with "God"! But the pastor IS right about 1 thing. The Selfishness of people WILL ultimately destroy the Earth..

I live in the Pacific Northwest & I tend to be pretty liberal in my ideologies (I'm a Social Worker, go figure!) BUT I can tell you this about Sarah Palin....she has infused the base of the religious right. I really really really thought we were moving past the old go to's of God, Gays & Guns....but I guess we are all not so enlightened. This woman puts women's liberation behind about a hundred years. Good luck out there.

God is angry for sure. Angry that Sarah kills God's creatures and passes laws to allow the low-consciousness, unevolved hunters to do the same.

Sarah needs to go back to the woods and learn that "pro-life" means ALL life - not just the ones she chooses.
She's such a disgrace to women everywhere. -

Ever noticed how when ever a republican is questioned about their views or ethics, they switch the conversation back to Obama. They don't have an original idea of their own and like usual steal everything from others, i.e. CHANGE slogan. Since Obama didn't pick Hillary, McCain figured he'd still the lime light from the one thing Blacks have to celebrate (first black nominee), even though he knows damn well this Sarah lady is not qualified to represent the country.
Reply
Sarah was picked by one single person, verses the voice of the people who picked Obama, so let's not hear anything about Obama being chosen. He was chosen the democratic way not by the decision of one old senile man who may die at any moment and leave us stuck with this religious wacko. -

heh, another End of Days believer. The funny thing is, is that we've always have had them, starting in the mid 1800's, who for some reason have been consistently failing in there predictions. Wasn't the "end of days" that he speaks of supposed to happen in 2000 with the YTK Bug? I guess hes banking on the old pagan calander of the mayans to run out to Finally prove hes right. Funny, I see very little difference between Palin and Ahmadinutjob in Iran, except for the fact that one has a Y chromosome, and the other doesn't.

Palin probably heard me in one of my rants, yes I believe God is going pass a judgement on America, but evidently he is more long suffering than I am.I would have sent a little brimstone, when Roe V Wade was passed, and again when we started accepting gays as a normal life style.Maybe he's waiting on man-sheep,and women -horse life style. That can't be to far down the road.

I am reading all these blogs and I believe that most of the people don't know God. You see that the bible in proverbs 6, 16 says there is six thing I hate, yes seven are an abomination to him. a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speak lies, and one who sows discord among the brethren. So when you get on these blogs and spread lies remember these words.God will do what he do. What you do is vote for who you think is right for you and your need.God is not mocked what so ever a man sows that shall he also reap. Obama belongs to God too.

read your bible,God is in control, one day when He comes back all the people that don't believe in Him will have to give an account for their lives. Sarah Palin and her pastor are in touch with God, therefore they know whats going on in this world. Sarah Palin will keep speaking the truth even though she will be made fun of and ridiculed for everything she does and says. Thats ok. she is tough. she will always put God and her family first and keep speaking up for what she believes in. Wake up America! She is one of very few that you should be trusting in the political world!
