Obama Admits He Is A Secret Muslim, Or Not, You Judge »

I think it's just another example that Obama sucks without a teleprompter. Please let him only read off speeches.

This is neither an admission of anything nor a slip due to the lack of a teleprompter. Some Republicans have been claiming that he is a Muslim ever since he became a candidate. He simply states on the video that McCain has not made such accusations personally. It is George Stephanopoulos's interruption that makes it look like a slip.

yet another non-story from the right.
the people who believe obama is a secret muslim are the same type of people who believe Iraq was responsible for 9/11. the truth doesn't matter at all to these people. they're just looking for something, anything, that re-enforces their hatreds and fears. and they don't care if its a rumor, an innuendo or a complete fabrication. -

This subject is getting kind of old. It is quite clear to the most casual observer that Obama was raised in a Muslim Family. He "converted" (Those are his words) when he joined the christian church and was guided by his "spiritual leader" ever since.
Reply
Chicago-based journalist, broadcaster and critic Andy Martin, when asked about Obama's baptism, wrote, "I have never been able to obtain any evidence that he was baptized, although I asked for those records."
It seems that Obama's conversion occurred when he answered one of Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright's altar calls by walking down the aisle of Trinity Church to make a formal commitment of his faith.
Cathleen Falsani, religion columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, writes, "He (Obama) described his conversion experience in his mid-20s, how he walked the aisle at Trinity United Church of Christ one Sunday in a public affirmation of his private change of heart."
"I came to Christianity through the black church tradition where the line between evangelical and non-evangelical is completely blurred. Nobody knows exactly what it means."
"Does it mean that you feel you've got a personal relationship with Christ the savior? Then that's directly part of the black church experience. Does it mean you're born-again in a classic sense, with all the accoutrements that go along with that, as it's understood by some other tradition? I'm not sure."
"There are aspects of Christian tradition that I'm comfortable with and aspects that I'm not. There are passages of the Bible that make perfect sense to me and others that I go, 'Ya know, I'm not sure about that.'"
"It wasn't an epiphany," he says of that public profession of faith. "It was much more of a gradual process for me. I know there are some people who fall out. Which is wonderful. God bless them.... I think it was just a moment to certify or publicly affirm a growing faith in me." -

Just read what the Christians did in the 7 crusades.
Read about the barbaric tortures during the Inquisition.
Read about the atrocities and massacres of the Incans and the Mayans in the conquest of the Americas.
Read about the near slavery conditions in the mission system in California.
Read about what the Christian Adolf Hitler did to the Jews and gypsies.
Read about the Christians in Serbia persecuting Muslims.
Read about the Christian Protestants and the Christian Catholics killing each other in Northern Ireland.
Read about what our white, Christian government did to our Native American population.
Read about what the Christian Ku Klux Klan did to slaves and free blacks in rural America.
Read about what the Christian neoconservative right did to subvert our constitution and incite an illegal war in Iraq.
Read all this and you will not vote for anyone who could possibly be a Christian. -

Haven't you neocons heard about Rev Jeremiah Wright and the controversy of Obama being in his church for 20 years? Obama had to dissociate himself from the over-the-top Wright.
So half of the neocons believe he still belongs to Wright's church and his militant christianity. The other half believes he is Muslim.
SHEEESH! Make up your collective minds which false accusation you guys want to use in your smear campaign!!!

There are several sects of Muslims, just like there are several sects of Christians. Baptists don't agree with what Methodists teach, Nazarenes don't agree with Lutherans, and everybody disagrees with Catholics! Even if he were a Muslim, it doesn't mean he's a terrorist. Being a Muslim in and of itself doesn't make a person bad. Different, maybe. But if there are extensive background checks in order to work in a bank, what do you think they do if you want to be President? This is just nit-picking! What if he were an Atheist? Nobody would like that, either. What about real issues, like his stand on the economy? We're sinking and we need someone who can figure out what to do about it. Is it Obama? I don't know............

Dude is not a Muslim. No muslim would put up with going to a CHRISTIAN CHURCH for 20 years plus. No Muslim would have the attitude towards the zionist entity that he has. Dude is about as Christian as they come. So dude left out some words during his interview. That doesn't make him a Muslim. I pi$$ed that the rest of you would think that by him being a Muslim would make him a bad president. Most of you are stupid, redneck, barely intelligent, don't read, and scarcely traveled a$$holes. Hey, Abu, you say no Muslim would attend a "Christian" Church for 20 years plus? What if it had anti-America/pro-Hama sermons that would make the Nation Of Islam proud, which it did while he was there? Obama may not be a Muslim, but, he sure seemed to cater to them. I can see why you are for him.

A perfect society is where we ALL get along and live peacefully among each other. Politics is the method by which we try to get to that point. When certain people inject religion into the process (My God is true and yours is false) it just brings us down to the primeval level we are at now. I think IF there is other intelligent life in the universe, surely they must have monitored our behavior and said ....."There nothing here to see folks, keep moving".

but if you air your opinion publicly, you're gonna get feedback one way or the other
here's what you said:
'because of the stupidity of some who feel they are being liberal'
'use your brains.'
'blacks want a black pres but at what cost ?'
you start out insulting people-not good way to get your foot in the door as far as expressing yourself, in my experience
I think you should let blacks speak for themselves-even if you yourself are black, that does not give you leeway to speak for other people. I'm white, and I never recall saying 'whites want this or that'
how the heck do I know what other people want?
It also sort of hamstrings the whole 'one man, one voice, one vote' democracy thingamajig
I understand we let blacks and women vote nowadays along with everybody else-will find out what the voters want soon enough. Let them speak for themselves

The out of context sound bytes get old, but so does a front page of stories that mostly consist of bashing Palin or McCain. There are enough issues of concern about Obama (and McCain as to policy, for that matter) without making too much out of misspeak. It's starting to look like the headlines in Reddit this weekend.
Reply
Incidentally, it is okay to not support Obama, it is okay to be Republican or Independent and it is okay to question patriotism -- thinking people of good concscience can disagree. (I think -- makes one wonder these days when any word can and will be misconstrued for political gain)
Yet, the petty attacks from either supporters towards each other do not help their respective candidate's image, let alone their own.
Otherwise, despite what some social media sites have you believe. I just hope we start getting to substance soon ....there is not much time in the election cycle left. I am missing the old Propeller, there was more variety and meaningful comments.
All of this said --- patriotism and religion are important issues be it Obama or Palin (the two least known), but submissions like this aren't informative on those accounts.-

In Indiana, Obama tries to explain what he has learned since being president. He does correct himself, but this is not the first time we've experienced this kind of mix-up with Obama or his campaign. Remember the presidential seal? Or how about when he made his speech in Berlin and his advisors tried to say that is wasn't a political speech because, "When the president of the United States goes and gives a speech, it is not a political speech or a political rally." A reporter had to remind him that he wasn't the President.

In this interview with Stephanopoulos, Obama slips and mentions "my Muslim faith." Now you watch this video for yourself. Obama tells George "You're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith ..." George interrupts to say "Your Christian faith." Obama responds with "My Christian faith ... well, what I'm saying is that he hasn't suggested that I'm a Muslim."
Reply

Look. If you're a conservative, you are used to this. When liberals screw up on the screen, we typically notice how easy and lightly the interviewers question them. When conservatives make a screw up, or even attacks a liberal position, the interviewer will actually take the liberal defense position.

We always see this. This is nothing new.
I mean, after all, Stephanopoulos was part of the Clinton administration. Would it be surprise anyone if he announced he was voting for Obama?
The problem here is that Obama has a speaking problem. Not the gaffe itself.
