Did he ever attend? - He was chair of some committee and he never called a meeting.

Phasing down troops before the surge would have been disaster. This example of Obama's foreign policy "experience" is not a good one. NOT AT ALL!

Any effect of the 'surge' was incidental at best. The surge initially increased casualties all around. It wasn't until our government effectively began paying insurgents not to target our troops and Al Maliki arrived at a ceasefire did the violence level come down to what we see now.

Surge or no, if the ceasefire breaks, violence will return, perhaps worse than before, since everyone is now 'rested'.

Obama's web site- He may have passed the bills, but the senate didn't.

obama isn't the chair of this committee.

Joe Biden holds the chair of the Sen. Foreign Relations committee.

and its a big mistake to bring up attendance records, especially since McCain has missed more votes than anyone in the senate.

He is the chair of the subcommittee for European affairs. Again - NO MEETINGS! You can't use that as foreign policy experience, can you?

THe point is that you are saying that this is how Obama has experience.

Nothing to do with McCain, he has a lot more years in the senate than Obama/

If Obama didn't attend he didn't get the experience.

Yes McCain does and look at his record. He has caved in on all the issues that used to make him stand out. He now walks lock step with Bush and his ideals. After the disaster that has been for this country why would we want to continue it? Even if you don't like Obama he is better than that.
