How do you know this project won't be the break through needed for the develpment of fusion power? Won't you feel like an idiot for suggesting we ignore research just because it's over your head?

This will bring about many great things. They will find interdimensional energy which will open up all kinds of new paths to learn and create things for the betterment of mankinfd

Same reason I don't cower in fear that the sun will produce a massive x-ray burst tomorrow that wipes the planet clean (this is theoretically possible, but the chances are infinitesimal).

How do you know you won't die in an accident the next time you bathe? Or drive a car? Odds are far greater to die those ways then by global catastrophe yet most of us deal with that risk and maintain both our hygine and our vehicles.

Reading about what they're doing and knowing or investigating the basis of particle physics, try it sometime!

The problem is; they don't know what they are doing. If they did, there would be no reason to do it.

You know what they are going to find out don't you. There is no Higgs particle, but a whole new set of equations that we will spend the next 1000 years trying to figure out. There is no end to the quest.

I'm all for it if they can get cold fusion pwer out of it. Plus I want to know all about the BIG BANG, since I don't separate the power called God and the Big Bang.

Science is veryimportant to all humans. If it weren't for science, I wouldn't be able to argue with the good peple on here from around the planet from the comfort of my room.
